This incredible pair of early 20th century mechanical boxing figures once graced a penny arcade coin op machine and they show the scars of many bouts. Each measures 12 5/8″ tall (add 1/4″ for the custom made heavy steel 3 1/2 square display bases) and features nicely cast details well-muscled physiques and a multi-layer paint history that is stable and exhibits lots of loss and wear. The African American pugilists have a chocolate milk-toned complexion and their trunks have good, strong color. They have an illustrious provenance having been included in the inventories of 2 of America’s most important Americana dealers of the mid to late 1900’s. ANTIQUE SKITTLES GAME WITH 10 PINS AND 3 BALLS YARD BOWLING GAME. Up for sale is this wonderful old game. Think back to a time of yesteryear when life was simpler and time was spent in the backyard instead of staring at a device all day. Back when playing in the yard was the thing of the day! The game comes with 10 pins and 3 balls and appears to be very complete and has been well played with. The colors are fabulous and are a bright reddish orange with black bands. Each pin has a little hole in the bottom of them and a little wood plug in the top. The plugs are missing on two of the pins and broken on two others, but the rest are all there. The pins and balls have paint nicks, chips, dings, wear, edgewear, scrapes, scuffs and patina. 11.75 inches high by 2 1/8 inches in diameter. The balls are 3 inches in diameter. This is a really nice untouched square nailed period circa 1870s or earlier original paint black and white with nice molded boarder and size with great old untouched patina and paint from a Lewiston NY estate. In person this is really nice w nice size and proportions. One pic I separated the boarder molding to show the square nail – all good. Great Wall decor folk art. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk! AAFA FOLK ART SINGLE SIDED GAME CHECKER BOARD ORIGINAL RED PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this old hand-painted checker / game board. It has a great folk art feel to it! The board is a wonderful red color with cream-colored squares. It’s an 8 x 8 game board. There is paint loss, edge wear and hand wear but it looks just great! The game is on a two-piece board as we hope you can see in the pictures. We don’t know when the game was painted on but it looks old to us. It’s got great colors! The checkerboard has bread board ends and in the upper left corner there’s some chunks of wood missing. There are old rusty nails in the bread board ends. And, on the sides, the edging is a bluish color as you can see in the pictures. There are a couple of square nails which we tried to show in the pictures. Not all of the nails are square nails. Also on the top there is a nice round hook to hang it up by. On the back, the one smaller board is a different color and the bigger board is a wood color. There are two hangers on the back as you can see in the pictures. It measures 23.5″ L x 13.5″ W x 1 thick the main wood is. As mentioned, there’s some paint loss, nicks, scrapes, scratches, worn edges and dings. All of these “issues” are just as you’d expect from an item of this age… It’s still just a neat old board!! EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s green, yellow, black, old white, blue, red, brown and bittersweet with black and white numbers around the outside. On the other side, it’s an old red color with no numbers or letters. The numbers on the front side are all 25, 50, or 100. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 30.75 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk!!
