This listing is for 2 Huichol Indian yarn paintings. 1 is signed and framed and the other is not. The framed one is signed by “Jose de la Cruz” the framed one is 24×24 and the inflamed one is aprox 16×16. The paintings are in good condition and the colors are vibrant. The Huichol Indians live in a secluded part of Mexico. Huichol art is an extension of the deep religious feelings that every Huichol acquires in their traditional way of life. Through their art work, Huichol Indians encode and document their Shamanic, spiritual knowledge. Peyote consumption by the shamans manifests into a myriad of “power animal spirits” as well as visions of the Peyote flower itself. Art becomes a vehicle that carries ancient wisdom and healing powers. Please look at pictures for further reference. Beautiful Antique Folk Art Grain Painted Forestville Ogee Clock

Up for sale is this antique Forestville Clock Company 30 Hour Ogee Clock. It is set apart from others by a very unique and what I find to be a very attractive paint job. I’m not sure how old the paint is, though it is clearly not original. It does show some wear, dings and chips, mostly along the edges and corners. The dial also appears to have some loss and damage which is really only visible when you open the door. Measures about 26″ x 15 1/4″. Please view all 12 photos to help judge condition. This sale is for a 19th century folk art painting of a mother with her children in nature. It is an oil on canvas. It is in its original frame, which measures 31 1/4″ wide by 42 1/4″ tall. The painting itself measures 25 1/4″ wide by 36 1/2″ tall. It has craquelure throughout, and a little chipping on the mother’s neck, but overall it is a stunning piece and would look great in a Victorian or classicly decorated home. I had a frame store put a paper shield over the back of the frame to protect the painting. There is a little tear in the paper, but it does not affect the painting in any way. FANTASTIC 19th c AMERICAN FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY

This is an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC 19th c AMERICAN FOLK ART PORTRAIT of a BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY! It is a WONDERFUL, LARGE, LIFE-SIZE portrait of a young woman in mourning. She is dressed in black. She wears black gloves, and a ANCHOR PIN in the middle of her white bow. She wears a wedding ring, and holds two white roses. The piece is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. It has been RE-LINED for many years of TROUBLE FREE enjoyment. There is in-painting as seen in the photo taken under black light, but is appears the in-painting just added some shading and did not change the features at all. On the back of what appears to be the ORIGINAL STRETCHER, is carved, W M Prior. The frame is a later frame and not original. What makes this piece really special is the attractiveness of the lady. Often times folk art portraits are not of very attractive people. You don’t have that with THIS PIECE! This piece would DEFINATELY make a statement in any room it was located in! It’s a CLASSIC AMERICAN PIECE and if by Prior would be a VERY IMPORTANT PIECE AS WELL! I have included in the last picture a collage of other William Matthew Prior portraits to compare this piece to. Antique Pintail Wood Duck Decoy Vintage Hunting Beautiful Folk Art Carving Paint

I have had several of these for over 15 years and added my last one just last year. Please ask any questions before I leave! Please enlarge the photos for the very best description! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS EARLY BEFORE I LEAVE! DESCRIPTION: (BE SURE TO ENLARGE THE PHOTOS FOR THE VERY BEST DESCRIPTION). I believe this is a pintail duck decoy. I love the carving around the beak and through the eyes. There is some paint wear to the head and neck, but not bad. The body shows some dirtiness. I have never touched it to clean it in any way. The tail shows some wear to the outer edges of the wood. Please use the pictures and enlarge them for the very best description! This decoy is solid and weighs 2lbs 5ozs while measuring 16 3/4 inches in length from the tip of the bill to the end of the tail. I found this decoy over 15 years ago at a shop in north central Illinois. I WILL BE GONE FROM MARCH 3 UNTIL MARCH 13. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS EARLY SO THAT I CAN ANSWER THEM BEFORE I LEAVE.
