LARGE ANTIQUE ANGEL OIL PAINTING SIGNED 1963 MID-CENTURY MODERN FRAMED. This is a wild find! This is a 1963 framed, oil painting of two angels playing their musical instruments in heaven’s band. This unique, one of a kind painting is signed, R. Anderson’63 in the lower right corner. This painting is executed on a large canvas panel that measures 36″ long and 24″ wide. Measurements, including the frame are 38-1/2″ in length, 26-1/2″ wide and 2 deep. The frame shows some repair on the bottom corners, please see photos, and general wear for a 62 year old frame, but it still works. This painting has been professionally cleaned and is ready to hang! This hand painted oil on board depicts a wood cabin on the edge of a swamp. There are cypress trees in water as well as a large oak with Spanish moss dramatically drooping down. The atmosphere is one of peace and remote living, close to nature. The work is done in simple strokes and has an overall primitive quality. Condition is good, the piece is housed in a gilt wood frame with a canvas mat with a newer stinger. Measurements are: sight size 15 1/2″ by 11 1/2″. Framed 19″ by 15″.
