Up for sale is a Vintage 1950s LOS ANGELES AT NIGHT folk art painting. Has the old MESA THEATER in the background. In the bottom left corner. Medium is oil on canvas board that measures 9″ by 12″. In great condition with some wear. This is what is written on the reverse.. “An Original painting of Los Angeles, California”. Painted at night from the solarium at Dr. Ralphs > Van Vranken’s home on the Mesa above Los Angeles. A rather dificult job – I would take a good look at the city, from the window, then turn on the light and paint. Turn out the light and get another view, and paint. A very interesting piece of folk art from the City of Angels!
