Up for sale is this vintage oil on board framed painting of Victorian Battleships at War. The framed painting measures 46″ in length and 20″ in height. This is a one-of-a-kind gorgeous painting that will be a great addition to any collection. The painting is signed, but I cannot figure it out. Looks to be framed by the artist. The frame material is old stock wood measuring 1 1/2″ thick by 2 1/4″ wide. Don’t get that very often any more. The painting itself is done very very well. A lot of attention to detail. Done in a kinda folk art on plywood technique. This nautical and historical oil painting is perfect for those who appreciate folk art and naval history. I hope someone can use it. Thank you for looking.
From our own family’s collection! A similar art piece by this artist was called “Villagers Working Near The Red Tree”. Size: 8″x10″ approximate inches. Simeon Michel the master of the “Flamboyant” began to draw at an early age. He developed his own style and used colors that made him instantly recognizable by collectors all over the world. He claims that painting, to him is more than a passion, it’s a madness. His paintings depict the Haitian countryside and remind us of the French “impressionistic” style. Simeon is by no doubt, an excellent choice for any collector. We did make great efforts to upload clear pictures. For example, if you can’t quite tell the condition from the pictures, then please ask the appropriate questions. All of that being said, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for anything, such as extra pics. Thank you for looking & look out for more to come!

This is a late 18th century or early 19th century oil on wood painting of Santa Heduvigi or Saint Hedwig in English. She was a 13th century princess in Poland (Silesia). When she was widowed and lost all but one of her children, she turned her wealth and status into helping the needy. She spent the rest of her life attending to orphans and the poor. There is a Spanish inscription at her feet which speaks of the insolvent debtors, the poor, unknown, hidden and desolate. She appears to be holding a gold coin in one outstretched hand and bread or wafer in the other. She is solicited in prayer by those in dire need. The painting and frame measure 13 1/4 by 10 1/4. The painting is darkened by the smoke of thousands of candles over a hundred years. The later date frame has had numerous repairs and does not meet tightly at the corners. Someone with better skills than I might wish to make adjustments. Saint Hedwig might well be called upon anew considering all that is happening.
