EARLY 20TH CENTURY AMERICAN VINTAGE HAND- CRAFTED, PAINTED FOLK ART WOODEN. BULL WITH ORIGINAL SURFACES. This early 20th century hand-fashioned primitive folk art carved wooden bull, is complete and features hand-painted surfaces and especially well-painted, detailed eyes. The carved wooden horns are both intact and without material loss or fractures. The entire bull is carved from a central piece of pine wood, where separate legs and horns, as well as the coarse, raw cord hemp tail, are attached. The tail is also intact and original to the folk art carving. The sidewalls of the sculpture feature sponge-applied sienna brown, and black paint, that resemble the animal’s natural hide and covering. The bottoms of the legs are also intact and without any fractures. The naturalism of the bull’s carving points to familiarity with the animal and was most likely hand-carved by a farmer who once held these livestock on their New England farm. It looks great from all angles and really doesn’t have any weaknesses. It stands 13″ high and over 10″ in length and has presence and the determination the animal itself, once did. 13″ Length 10 ¼” Height x 3 ½ Depth. Very Good/Excellent overall vintage condition. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE BLUE TABLE TOP PIE SAFE OLD ORIGINAL WHITE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful old tabletop pie safe. It’s old and adorable! It’s a nice white color with old screens. It’s got tons of character! It has an old screw that goes into a hole for a latch that keeps it closed. The knob appears to be black plastic and is probably newer than the pie safe. Inside there are 3 little wooden dowel shelves. It’s a wonderful white color with lots of patina, paint loss, edgewear, nicks, scrapes, and overall wear. There are many rusty and round nails in it as well as some brighter finish nails here and there around the trim of the screens. Overall, it has an aged patina to it with a little grunge here and there. It’s not perfect but then again, it is! It measures 27″ H x 13.75″ W x 13 D. It weighs 14 lbs. AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD CHILD’S SLED ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT CHRISTMAS. Up for sale is this amazing child’s sled. This is such a cute sled!! It’s a ligth blue and it’s a sled you (or small kids years ago would) sit on while wooshing down the snow! The runners are metal and this little sled is heavy for its size. We don’t recommend that you use this for your kids to downhill sled on, however, we do think it would make a great Teddy Bear display item or perhaps a Santa display for Christmas! The upper part is wood and it’s a worn light blue. The bottom rails are wonderfully shaped to plow through the snow. They are wrapped with metal and there’s a metal crossbar underneath also. On the back on the deck there’s some damage to the wood. There are holes in the front of the runners for a rope but there’s no rope. It’s in great condition for its age. The paint is all rough and worn as you can see in the pictures. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, rust, paint drips, fading, scrapes, scratches, nicks, cracks, dings, worn off edges, edge wear, smudges, and patina! What a great look!! It’s been well-loved and probably has lots of miles of downhill slides on it!! We’re not really sure how you steer (probably with your feet off the back) it so we hope whoever had it was hanging on! Early Antique Folk Art Wooden Trencher Dough Box Original Red And Blue Paint

21 L ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOODEN TRENCHER DOUGH BOX ORIGINAL RED AND BLUE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful, old, beautiful wooden trencher dough box. It is rectangular in shape with canted sides with little inlet wooden handles on each end to carry it by. It doesn’t have a lid and likely did not as this one is painted inside with a wonderful Primitive blue-grey, almost a robin’s egg blue in places, color. Sometimes the ones with the painted insides didn’t have lids, that’s why they painted the inside. The color is a beautiful Primitive, almost Ox Blood, red color with wonderful patina, age marks and character marks. Wow, we love the look and all the patina! It looks to have been made from old crates. We can see some crate writing on the side of the box but we can’t read it. It looks in part to say Knudsen’s but we’re not sure. We tried to show this in the last picture. Measures 21.5″ long (at the top) and 17.5″ long (at the bottom) x 9.5″ wide (at the top) and 8″ wide (at the bottom) x 9.25 high measured to the rim. It weighs about 5 lbs. It’s a wonderful, more petite size! This will make a great conversation piece. There’s some nicks, chips, surface imperfections, scrapes, discolorations, fading and edgewear as you can see in the pictures. These “imperfections” add character! It has many character scratches to the interior and spotting or differences in color from age and use. Look at the color, WOW! Inside it’s painted and there are wear marks where the paint has come off. It’s got patina from use on the inside too! The bottom of the box has a crack in it as you can see in the pictures. It’s very clean inside. We have tried to show all of this in the photos. Please look at the photos for a more accurate description and detail. EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE DOLL TRUNK DOME TOP MINIATURE TRUNK HAND PAINTED SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful miniature antique wood steamer child’s or doll trunk. The trunk has a painted dome top with painted accents on the front, sides and back. Perhaps this was a dowry trunk? ! The trunk is a green color with red, white, black and other reddish accents. The lid is a round-top / dome-top. The lid’s hinges are not original and were replaced at some point as you can see in the pictures. There is a large crack in the lid, which most likely split from drying out over the years. Some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variation of color, wood showing through, chipping, holes and nicks. This is a testament to its age and character. Obviously, it has survived for years and was very well made! On the front of the trunk there is a small metal hasp for a latch but there is no latch or lock any more. The trunk has square nails in it as you can see in the bottom. On the left front side at the bottom, there’s a piece of wood missing and there’s a good-sized square nail as you can see in the pictures. The nails in the top are smaller and look like rose-head nails to us, they are somewhat round but rusty and gnarly. Where you can see more of the sides of the nails you can tell that they are square nails. It measures about 17.25″ L x 9.5″ W x 9 H. It weighs about 6 lbs. It’s a nice Primitive blue color with old, rusty screens. It’s got tons of character! It has an old wire metal latch that hooks from the door in to an little loop on the side and holds the door shut. It has a nicely scalloped top trim piece and inside there is one shelf. The inside is not painted except for a few paint drips. There’s even a little knothole / mouse hole on the back. They must have been good pies! The back was made from old crates! It’s a wondeful blue color with lots of patina, paint loss, edgewear, nicks, scrapes and overall wear. The blue paint has been lightly sealed or waxed as you can see in the pictures. We anticipate they were trying to preserve the color and the finish. It has a lot of old rusty nails on it. We see a couple that might be square nails, but most of them are old round nails. It’s not perfect but then again, it is! It measures 27″ H x 17″ W x 7.75 D. It weighs 12 lbs. Early Antique Bentwood Folk Art Brides Box Tine Box Hand Painted Norway Sweden

EARLY ANTIQUE BENTWOOD FOLK ART BRIDES BOX ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED GREEN FLORAL. Up for sale is this wonderful old bride’s box. It’s might be Scandinavian and it might be Swedish. We don’t know origin or age of this item but we’d guess that it’s from the 1800’s. It’s a wonderful size and is in great condition for its age. It has two little wood carved post catches that hold the lid in place. You push these catches out and it releases the lid. They hold the lid in place when the lid is on. The lid has a small thin wire handle to lift the lid off. On the lid, you can see the initials ARS stenciled in the lid on one side and KAS scribed by hand in the lid on the other end. On the underside of the lid, you can see some handwriting in pencil but we can’t read what it says. It appears some of it is another language but we are not sure. The color is a dark green painted color with black undertones. The flowers are a Primitive red with white and black accents. It’s very nice and well done in that folk art way we love! The box has wide, overlapping two-finger jointed band construction. The ends of the bands appear to have a stitched leather? Binding on them that goes through to the inside of the box. There are a couple of small square nails near the end of the bands. There are other, round and shiny nails around the base of the box that appear to be newer than the other nails but don’t detract from the appearance. The box measures 9.75″ L x 6″ W x 4 H. It has some fading, crackling paint, edgewear, divots in the surface, streaks, paint loss, wood missing here and there, streaks, paint loss, paint chips. IMPORTANT EARLY 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE YELLOW PINE GRAIN PAINTED SETTLE BENCH. This is a very large specimen with a spindle turned back, nicely scrolled back rail crest with center pediment and fully formed arms with a lift top seat revealing a large generous storage compartment complete with candle till. It is structurally pure with very strong remaining grain painted decorations with no damages. It has its original very unusual strap hinges with its lock and catch. Sorry we did not receive a key for the lock. This bench is embellished with four painted panels on its front and seats top with panels painted on each right and left end sides. The paint has obvious chips, nicks, edgewear, bumps and patina as you can see in the pictures. It is a wonderful and one of a kind! This would make a great piece to store things in like movies, DVD’s, music or kid’s items. The face of each cubby have a little lip to it which keeps things from rolling out. The back is old wood and made from 6 longs horizontally mounted boards. There is gap between the boards just under the bottom of each cubby which allows air to get to each cubby. We don’t see any square nails but there are a bunch of old rusty round nails. The cabinet measures 71.75″ W x 49.5″ H x 9-1/2 D. It weighs about 60 lbs. We don’t know the age of this item but it looks early 1900’s / 20th century to us. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint/stains as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age.
