English School Folk Art Watercolour Portrait of a Boy with a Hoop & Stick
English School Folk Art Watercolour – Portrait of a Boy with a Hoop & Stick. This delightfully naive Georgian portrait depicts a boy in dark blue overalls and a ruffled collar, holding a rolling hoop and stick, a popular children’s game of the period. 1820, the child is shown in profile within a grassy landscape. Handsomely presented in a 19th century reeded gilt frame and oval card mount. In very good condition overall, with remarkable colour retention. There is some light discolouration to the paper. The antique frame has some scuffing and marks, with a fine patina of age. Size: 8.5 x 7cm (3.3″ x 2.8″). Framed Size: 20.5 x 17cm (8.1″ x 6.7″). Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
