AMAZING AAFA 1800’S ORIGINAL PAINT DRY MUSTARD EARLY PRIMITIVE WOOD DRY SINK HEAVY! Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink. It’s a large-sized two door cabinet with a shelf inside. It’s a wonderful rich Primitive dry mustard color (spicy brown mustard) with red and wood undertones. The two sides, back and bottom inside are all tongue and groove wood pieces. The bottom ones inside can be a little loose sometimes but could easily be nailed in to place if you wanted to do that. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! On the right, left and back sides you can see where there were hinges at one point, possibly for doors that would have closed over the top. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! It’s an old dry sink. The doors open and one door has an old metal latch with a roll over hasp on it that goes in to a metal piece on the right door. You also could leave the doors open and display crocks, or firkins or other wonderful items. There are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. Many of the nails are square nails and we took a close up on the backsplash. They are small, but they are square. Then, also on the back, there are a number of round nails in to the bead board backing. On other places on the sink there are mostly round nails. The paint has some edge wear, scrapes, patina, fading, variation of color, wood showing through, chipping and nicks. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! The cabinet measures 37.25 W x 25.25″ D x 33″ H to the front edge. The well inside measures 35″ W x 22.5″ D x 7.25 H. It’s very heavy and the wood is very thick, 1-1/8 thick!! The doors are a full 3/4 thick. We can also recommend a couple of shippers.
