60s FOLK ART ARTIST Vada Woodell OIL PAINTING MIDLAND TEXAS SKYLINE DOWNTOWN

PAINTING IS 18X 24. FRAMED, THE PAINTING’S DIMENSIONS ARE 21.25 X 27. This fine painting depicts downtown Midland, TEXAS in the 1960s. AS WRITTEN ON REVERSE IN ARTIST HAND, 1967. THIS GREAT PAINTING HAS A FOLK ART FEEL WITH MANY LANDMARKS AND COLOR PALETTE OF THE TIME PERIOD. THERE ARE 2 SCRATCHES THAT I HAVE FOUND AND SHOWN PHOTOS OF THESE GREENERY AREAS. THIS DOES NOT DETRACT FROM THE THEME OF THE DOWNTOWN SKYLINE. THE FRAME IS OUTDATED AND HAS STAIN ON THE GOLD AREA AT THE BOTTOM. HAS A HOLE CENTER BOTTOM AND SCRATCHES AND RUBBING ON WOODEN EDGING. SHOWING BACKSIDE, THE PAINTING HAS BEEN CRUDELY FRAMED AS SHOWN. THIS FINE PAINTING REALLY DESERVES A NEW FRAME. CANVAS APPROX 18X24 AND FRAMED APPROX 21.25 X 27. Antique Primitive PA Dutch German Folk Art Paint Wood+Iron Sleigh Sled Estate

WELCOME TO THE STRANGEST THING… STUNNING Antique CIRCA 1880 Primitive PA Dutch Folk Art Painted Wood+Iron Sleigh Sled from Historic Estate. Really nice sled with NO Rot and is clean and tight. It is probably a tow behind sled for a farmer to pull his children/packages/items behind him in the snow. It is Sturdy and over 4 ft long (52) by 2 ft wide. Fantastic Patina to the original paint which is NOT flaking off or powdery. Wood is in overall great shape with some small losses here and there from age and use. I found this amazing sled in my barn on what was known as the SCHMIDT (later Smith) house in Monroe County (Kunkletown) PA. The site of the homes and Barn on this propery once held a Major Moravian mission for the Megolam in the mid 1700’s. THe homes and the Barn were constructed Between Circa 1790 to 1820. Project is coming along great. The main home is about 75% complete. The 2nd home (which used to be the summer kitchen seen in the OLD landsape pic) is structrally sound but a mess. Needs pretty much everything. The Barn—-Well—- It is a 200+ year old barn that has seen many years of Barn use. Anyway, this is an incredible piece worthy of a PA Dutch/Historic PA/Historic Northeast Museum and/or collection. BTW, That is the Sled sitting on the porch in the 1st image. The Old image of the house with the people are the 2nd Generation Smith’s. We discover more each week as we get to know the neighbors and the books of the area they have loaned us. Items I offer for sale are generally ANTIQUE-VINTAGE merchandise. They will have normal/typical wear consistent with age. Any significant damage such as chips, cracks, hairlines etc. Will be mentioned in the item description above. I GUARANTEE all items as described!! Contact me with any questions. My Residential home is near Wilmington DE. You can pick it up there or we can possibly meet anywhere between there and JIM THORPE/Blue mountain area of PA. I can also meet anywhere within 50 miles of my home. THanks for Looking and your valuable time. The free listing tool. EDWARD LANGE 1846-1912 American FOLK ART Painting Long Island NY Signed 1880

Rare EDWARD LANGE American Folk Art Drawing/Painting Long Island NY Artist Signed Dated 1880 plus book “Edward Lange’s Long Island”. Signed and dated lower right. Watercolor and gouache on paper. We took the piece out of the frame to examine it and found that the paper is watermarked with the name “Whatman 1878″. The edges of the paper have very slight foxing. 5 1/4″ x 11 3/4″. It is framed in an Eastlake frame that has some wear. Overall size is 8 1/4″ x 14 3/4″. The scene is of several buildings, a train, horse and buggies and people walking. One building has a sign that reads “Store” and to the right of that is a horse drawn omnibus with North Port written on the side. Also, on the bottom A. Smith is written in block letters. It somewhat resembles the Saint James depot. It is probably on what is now called the Port Jefferson line of the Long Island Railroad where Lange is known to have painted a number of stations. Quality examples of Lange’s work rarely come to the market. In addition to the painting, there is the softcover book entitled “Edward Lange’s Long Island”. 67 pages, bibliography, notes , illustrations with 76 color and b&w reproductions of the artist’s paintings and drawings. Edward Lange (1846- 1912) was born in Germany and emigrated to New York with his family sometime in the 1860’s. By 1870 Lange and his wife, Susan Denton of Brooklyn, were living in Elwood, Long Island. He was probably self taught but influenced by artists and prints produced by them during the 1860’s and 1870’s including James Bard, Jurgen Fredrick Huge, Currier and Ives, George Durrie and Louis Prang. He can be credited with recording the landscape and townscape of Long Island before its period of tremendous growth in the 1880’s. His attention to detail gives insight into the architecture, daily life, business activities and agriculture of rural Long Island. His watercolors and drawings capture both the bucolic and nostalgic character of Long Island on the cusp of change and the coming of the iron horse which stimulated business and tourism. No reasonable offer is ever refused. The item “EDWARD LANGE 1846-1912 American FOLK ART Painting Long Island NY Signed 1880″ is in sale since Monday, April 03, 2017. 1865 Civil War Era Painting Black African American Woman with Bowler Hat Folk Art

1865 Civil War Era Painting Black African American Woman w/ Bowler Hat Folk Art. Feel free to submit an offer. This has been in storage for over 40 years! 21 photos in the listing. I believe it is signed William Petty, 1865 but I may be off on the signature. It could also be Pitty, Getty, Betty, Gitty, Bitty or something else entirely. Really incredible painting of an African American woman wearing a bowler hat. The colors are very complex. Definitely completed by a skilled hand. I believe the frame is gilded, but don’t know for sure. Minor wear in a few spots as shown, but overall the frame is gorgeous. The painting could use a cleaning; especially the removal of an old spill shown to the right of the hat. Open to showing this incredible piece in person by appointment. Framed size is 34 1/2″ by 32 1/2″. Thanks and good luck. The item “1865 Civil War Era Painting Black African American Woman with Bowler Hat Folk Art” is in sale since Sunday, April 02, 2017.
