Measuring 11 1/2″ long by 6 1/4″ tall and 7 wide, this mid 19th century Yellow Pine Miniature Chest is accented with wonderful hand-painted Folk Art decorations. The cover has the original owner’s initials N. And on the front, just below the key escutcheon, is a bird with large seashells on the sides. The outside edges and corners of this folk art painted box do have some wear and knicks, but when you open it up you see that the inside lining is still bright and vibrant. On the inside of the cover is a hand-colored print of King Charles the Second and the rest of the box is lined with vibrant stenciled wallpaper. The locking mechanism and hinges are original and along with this box comes the original key which still works!
