This is an antique back bone / vertebrae that is from a horse or cow. It has been hand painted to look like the priest John Wesley. The paintwork on the face is very finely done. Naive folk art which are very collectable today… These were made to make fun of Methodist leader John Wesley and his new evangelical religion of the period. No maker’s marks etc. It is in collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. The paintwork is dirty and chipped in places, mostly on the very edges and corners where the bone is visible. Please see pictures for more details. 5 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches in depth.
