Antique Wood Carousel Style Rocking Horse Folk Art Hand Painted Leather Toy VTG

Offering this beautiful old folk art wooden horse. It is styled in the way of an antique carousel horse but is more of a traditional rocking horse size. There are some small holes on the bottom, presumably from posts, and I have a handful of metal and wood pieces (handles and stirrups, presumably), but no base. The saddle parts are felt, the ears and reins are leather, and the mane and tail are fine yarn. It has age-related wear as shown including splits in the wood where the legs meet the main body of the horse, spotting on the legs/flanks, and natural age-related deterioration to the felt. This displays very handsomely as-is but could also make a nice restoration project. Great colors for use as holiday decor! Measures about 19″ long across the body, 35″ long from the front to back hooves, and 20 tall. Antique hand carved wooden rocking(gliding) horse from the late 1800’s, with glass eyes, and real hair mane and tail. He has a saddle cloth and breast plate with spots. At some point he had been refurbished. 38 tall to the top of his ears while on the stand; the stand is approx. 46″ long x 17″ wide. He has some darker scuffs on the inside of his legs; normal bumps, wood shrinkage and imperfections here and there from use and storage. Beautiful decorative collectible for your home. FABULOUS LARGE ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE TOY ROCKING HORSE. Wonderful antique early 1900s folk art wood horse on glider. This is in good condition…. I don’t see any thing major wrong with it at all. I was told this was the original paint…. Mainly a white body with some black patches. As far as I know the saddle is original also. There are some slight surface cracks, but they are not throughout the body, But part of the patina. The legs are nice and graceful and look wonderful in proportion to the rest of the horse. These were used back in the early 1900s as toys for kids to rock back-and-forth on. Amazing how they lasted this long. 42″ Long by 38″ by 16. He is a wonderful large rocking horse. He’s in good condition for his age. He has a nice happy look to him. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, scrapes, scratches, nicks, dings, cracks edge wear, smudges and patina! What a unique piece this piece was found in an old Barn In beautiful Pennsylvania. The rocking horse is in great condition with no damage but the horse does exhibit some minimal ware. The horse measures 34 1/2 long by 12 wide by 20 tall. The horse is one of a kind and was hand made of old wooden crates with nails and flat head screws along time ago this is a beautiful piece suitable for any antique collection. Absolutely beautiful and a work of art! Old 19th century antique rocking cradle. Beautifully painted wood in floral and fauna. This is EXTRAORDINARY, original, hand painted finish. Predominantly red background color with painted flowers that adorn the sides and the curved, rocking feet. The cradle is not marked or signed. It is in good, antique condition and has at least on old repair to a scrolled rocker. This doesnt compromise the structural integrity of the cradle and these can be resolved. Folk Art Child’s Rocking Horse. This is an authentic very old antique piece. Made of solid wood with a folk art painted plaster overcoat. Has a tacked on leather saddle seat. Rocker bars measure approximately 54″ long x 16-1/2″ across & the horse measures approximately 34″ high x 36″ long, leg to leg. Condition is antique & very very used with many losses & cracks to the plaster overcoat & old cracks & repairs to the rocker bars. Missing the right leather ear. Fabulous Early Aafa Antique Folk Art Dapple Toy Rocking Horse Original Paint

FABULOUS EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART DAPPLE TOY ROCKING HORSE ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful early rocking horse. He’s an amazing sideboard horse. He’s in great condition for his age. And, he has a nice happy look to him! He base measures 48.75 inches long by 12.5 inches wide at the bottom (widest part). He is 26.5 inches high to the top of his head. He’s a white and black dapple horse with a green base and a little red saddle. He has painted eyes and parts of his leather bridle. He also has little leather trimming around his tail behind the saddle. He’s all hand painted with tons of character! He was well played with over the years and has wear and patina you’d expect. He appears to have all original paint and it’s crackled and alligatored as you can see in the pictures. He has a wooden arched base. The base is in pretty good shape and rocks nicely. As you can see in the pictures, he has some areas where his paint has chipped or flaked off. Overall he shows very well and these “issues” add character and proof of age to him. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, scrapes, scratches, nicks, dings, holes in the sideboards, cracks, seams, edge wear, smudges and patina! What a great look!!
