I offer this rare and wonderful one of a kind piece from my personal collection. I have been collecting since the 1980’s and have owned this since about 1996. I bought two plates by the same artist that day, and one was unfortunately damaged in a move. I have shown the more descriptive back signature of the broken one in the last photo for reference as to date. It is in the last photo with “Circus Day, April 30, 1884″ on the back. This is about 140 years old! As you can see, it is a hand painted beautifully done painting of a Cairn Terrier or Border Terrier with a rabbit in it’s mouth. The expression in it’s eye as it appears to be looking up at it’s master is priceless! The clouds are beautifully done in soft colors. It has a bit of impressionist style to it. Shropshire of Lexington Kentucky on a quality Haviland Limoges porcelain blank. The mark on the blank is mark F dating from 1876 -1889. This painter was quite skilled, and it is so much nicer than those mass-produced transfer designs! A must see, and you will never see another exactly like it! Measures 10 in diameter and is in perfect condition. The dark spot on the pale blue rim is simply a drop of paint under the glaze when originally created. This is an original painting, and not a transfer print. Easy to hang on the wall with a plate hanger, or display on a shelf. Perfect for a Terrier lover! This piece is so wonderful, I really wouldn’t mind keeping it, but I have offered it for sale to fellow Terrier lovers. Please view the photos, and feel free to ask any questions. AAFA ANTIQUE EARLY FOLK ART 1800s DRY PAINT RED WHITE DRY SINK PORCELAIN. Up for sale is this wonderful old primitive dry sink that has been converted and is now a working porcelain / cast iron sink. It’s a petite sized one-door cabinet with the porcelain sink made to fit in to it. Wow, we’ve never seen another one like this!! It’s a wonderful red color with paint loss and patina. The cabinet measures 30.25″ W x 18″ D x 27.5 H. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn and patina-ed! This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! On the front there’s an old slide latch and catch along with. Shaker style hinges on the door. The entire cabinet is made out of tongue and groove boards. It’s an old dry sink. We don’t know the age of it but it looks late 1800’s to us with the addition of the porcelain / cast iron insert. On the back, there are a lot of old rusty nails as you can see in the pictures. Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! This is a great dry sink! We regularly put up new items so check out our other items.
