Antique English 19thC Folk Art Portrait Miniature Painting of Lady Dated 1835/36

From my own collection, this is an antique portrait miniature painting of a lady in a wonderful early 19thc yellow-brown dress with large full sleeves, her waist is belted high, as was the fashion. A white lace edged collar and long necklace complete her look. I bought this from an antique dealer in England several years ago. She has something written in ink on the back wooden panel, but the ink has faded and I cannot read it, other than a date, which is 1835 or 36. The portrait part of this measures 6 x 5″, the framed piece is 10 1/4 x 9″. It is 1 1/2 deep. This is in the original frame, which has wear commensurate with age, and I have photographed so you can see it. Antique Miniature Original Folk Art Oil Painting Cat Kitten In Basket Old Estate

This is an old antique early 1900s original miniature oil on board painting from older local esate. The old period wood frame is 4 1/2″ by 7″ and painting from back is 4″ by 6 1/2″. Features a cat in a basket and nicely done. All I see to note is a pinhead of gold paint on the left background from frame probably being repainted decades ago. Fancy Vermont paint decorated miniature chest with brown swirly decoration on an ivory background. The ivory background is original old paint. The decoration is a newer addition. The box features a nice stylized base, square cut nail construction and a till inside. The front and back panels are nicely mortised into the sides. The hinges are new. Paint decorated miniature chest with original black paint and bold decoration in red on three sides and a nice cut-out base. The box features thumb molding on the top, brass hinges, square cut nail construction and a till inside. The front and back panels are nicely mortised into the sides. The black background is original paint with heavy wear and the decoration is a newer addition. Some of his boxes feature a mustard yellow background and some with a very dark green background. Most all of them feature the colonial house flanked by two trees.
