AAFA VINTAGE FOLK ART METAL PLANT STAND ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT STORE DISPLAY. Up for sale is this wonderful old metal plant stand. It has original blue paint and a wonderful chippy, faded, rusty patina to it! We have no idea how old it is. It’s a quarter round and would fit in to a corner nicely. It would be a great store display or a plant stand. It has metal “shelves” and the shelves are radius-ed wire shelves. There are also metal feet to support the bottom shelf. Two of the feet are a little wiggly but they still support the shelf and are very sturdy. There are a couple of places where the rust ate away at the metal and you can see those in the pictures. It gives it a great look! It measures 28″ high by 24″ wide on each leg and the wire shelves are about 7 deep. R. A. Miller folk art paintings on metal 2 SIDED American Flag

Reuben Aaron Miller (July 22,1912 March 7, 2006) was a self-taught folk artist, best known for his whirligigs, metal cutouts and drawings. His work gained wider recognition in the 1980s, when it wasfeatured in a twenty-minute music video. And subsequently exhibited in museums of art. Widely collected, and in constant demand, Miller is acknowledged as one of the more notablesenior folk artists in the United States. Miller dropped out of school at the age of 12 and went to work in a cotton mill. He also chopped wood for 50 cents a load. Later in life he served as an ordained minister for the Free WillBaptist Church. Miller used his artwork to help spread the word of God. His materials consisted of paint, magic marker, tin, bicycle parts, and scrap metal. His work generall yconsisted of animal and human figures, and short inspirational messages, most notably Lord Love You. The Georgia Museum of Art organized a retrospective of Miller’s work in 2009. 24″ x 14.5″ on painted scrap sheet metal , signed R. Antique Folk Art Painted Sheet Metal Gas Sign Gasoline

This is a wonderful old painted sheet metal sign for Gas. This sign is hand painted over another sign that we cannot discern what it was. An excellent example of folk art and make do. The sign is thick sheet metal and the paint has a wonderful old surface with age cracks in the paint. Gas was 20 cents a gallon in the 1950’s and 1960’s, no doubt this sign is that old. This outstanding primitive whirligig is a wonderful example of early 20th century folk art which depicts an old man sawing. This colorful piece was done circa 1930’s. Size is 14 1/4″ long x 10″ tall and the span of the “whirl” is about 16 wide. Great detail and color, superb quality and clever craftsmanship. In original condition – just as it has descended throughout the years; dust and all. The paint is in very condition and the mechanism works well. The “Man & Saw” are attatched and moves back and forth however the “whirl” does not move them….
