2x Antique 19th Century Middle Eastern painting on bone. These exquisitely painted miniatures are truly breathtaking. Set of two paintings. Believed to be acrylic on bone. Signed, but I cannot read writing. It may be Arabic or Farsi. Each painting is framed in a wooden frame with golden yellow tones that matches nicely. Frames have a small decorative hook on the top and hanging hardware on the back. The paintings are about 4.5″ x 7.5″, frames measure about 6″ x 9.25″. The first scene depicts a hunt. Horses and men chasing deer elk? In a wooded rocky area with ornate houses in the background. Although yellowed, it appears to be in excellent condition considering it’s presumed age of late 19th century. The second painting depicts a more communal scene of people tending animals sheep? , while others ride horses, sit inside tents, drink wine, and watch lambs and dogs. This painting is not in perfect condition, and shows some areas that have flaked off from the original painting. Although imperfect, the painting is still exquisitely done and wonderful to view. As always, please review all photos as part of the description. Please form your own decision on quality and condition. Please ask any questions prior to purchasing.
