Early Aafa Folk Art Antique Original Hand Painted Mustard Wall Cabinet Wood
EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED MUSTARD WALL CABINET WOOD. Up for sale is this wonderful single door wall cabinet. It’s all hand painted in a deep mustard color and has tremendous patina, crackling and wear. The cabinet measures 24.25″ high to the top and 20.5″ wide at the top. 5 wide at the cabinet. Deep at trim and 8. Oor is 15″ wide and 19.75″ high. On the front it has a little twist latch and catch. That’s been painted over. The hinges are Shaker style hinges as you can see from the pictures. There are some holes on the front where there may have been other hinges at some other time, we’re not sure as there are only two holes in the cabinet for the top pair and there are no other holes on the door. We’d not sure what that’s about. It has a cute little scalloped dental / crown moulding at the top. Inside there are two shelves. The back is made from four tongue and groove boards. The top two were painted and are chipping. The bottom two are not painted as you can see. The paint appears to be all original and is dry, faded, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge worn, alligator-ed and patina-ed! Underneath the mustard color you can see a lighter, cream color. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close up ones. It’s a great old cabinet / cupboard!! Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk! We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. We have a number of new items so check out our other items. We will handle them on a case-by-case basis. FABULOUS EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART DAPPLE TOY ROCKING HORSE ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful early rocking horse. He’s an amazing sideboard horse. He’s in great condition for his age. And, he has a nice happy look to him! He base measures 48.75 inches long by 12.5 inches wide at the bottom (widest part). He is 26.5 inches high to the top of his head. He’s a white and black dapple horse with a green base and a little red saddle. He has painted eyes and parts of his leather bridle. He also has little leather trimming around his tail behind the saddle. He’s all hand painted with tons of character! He was well played with over the years and has wear and patina you’d expect. He appears to have all original paint and it’s crackled and alligatored as you can see in the pictures. He has a wooden arched base. The base is in pretty good shape and rocks nicely. As you can see in the pictures, he has some areas where his paint has chipped or flaked off. Overall he shows very well and these “issues” add character and proof of age to him. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, scrapes, scratches, nicks, dings, holes in the sideboards, cracks, seams, edge wear, smudges and patina! What a great look!! He seems to still be very happy! We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. RARE SET OF 6 EARLY AMERICAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SIDE CHAIRS CIRCA 1800’s HAND PAINTED. Up for sale is this amazing set of 6 Early American Pennsylvania Dutch chairs. They have turned legs and painted backs, seats and legs. They are a Hitchcock style chairs with hand-painted floral designs with yellow, green, black and faded white colors on the backs and they have painted seats and legs of white and yellow designs. All 6 chairs match. The stain on the chairs is a deep, rich brown color all nicely patina-ed. The back of the backs of the chairs are plain brown. There’s wear on the seats and one some of the edges where people rubbed over the years. We think these are from the 1800’s but they might be earlier, we’re not sure as we are not experts in the ages of things. The chairs are sturdy. Some of the back of the backs have some little scrapes and wear as you can see in the pictures. The seats show wear, variation in color. And nicks in the finish. Some of the footrests also show wear and loss of stain from rubbing shoes and feet on the rungs. Some of the rungs are just a little loose as you might expect from years of use. Have nicks, chips, edgewear and wonderful patina on them as you’d expect from chairs of this age! The chairs measure 33 inches H x 19 inches W at the backs (15.25 W at the seats) x 14 inches D. This is a fabulous (hard-to-find) set of 6 chairs. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. AAFA ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED BLUE BUREAU DESK RARE OOAK DOVETAILED SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this amazing and beautiful old desk or bureau. It’s an old flip top desk and it’s got a one-of-kind, hand painted motif. The main desk is a nice dark blue color with light blue areas as well as wood undertones peeking through here and there. There’s also oyster white, reddish orange, and dark blue accents on the motifs and trim. It’s all hand painted and quite amazing! The desk has a stretcher base with turned legs and bun feet. Inside it’s definitely from the pen and quill era as you can see ink spills on the inside. There are two compartments on either side of the single drawer which is a nicely dovetailed drawer as you can see in the pictures. On the drawer, in pencil, it’s written 1778. On the front of the desk there is a dark metal escutcheon and a skeleton key hole but we don’t have the key and we don’t know if the lock works. Inside the lid there are black strap iron hinges. They are really cool looking. They do have some newer, but rusty screws in the right hinge as you can see in the pictures but you can see where there is a nail in the left hinge that comes up and through the top of the desk and is bent over. We don’t know the age of this desk, but it looks like 1700’s American to us based on the hardware, the style and the bun feet. We’re not experts and we don’t know so you make the call. There are big square nails in the desk and we took some close up pictures of them. There are some condition issues here and there, but for it’s age, it’s in amazing shape. There are some worm holes in the back, especially along the joint in the wood. The bun feet and stretcher base have some issues including beetle damage, cracks and deterioration. There trim is cracked as you can see in the pictures. Has nicks, dings, scrapes, cuts, cracks, stains, chips, chunks, edge-wear and an absolutely wonderful patina. It’s truly an amazing piece! The desk measures 38.25″ H to the back and 32″ H to the front edge x 36.25″ W x 23″ D. This is a great desk and would make an amazing conversation piece. It’s sure to be a conversation starter!
