Paint decorated miniature chest with original black paint and bold decoration in red on three sides and a nice cut-out base. The box features thumb molding on the top, brass hinges, square cut nail construction and a till inside. The front and back panels are nicely mortised into the sides. The black background is original paint with heavy wear and the decoration is a newer addition. (note the cut out area in the top edge) This is a reconstruction made from old recycled pine with original surface. The dimensions are: 7″ tall x 11-1/2″ wide x 4-3/4 deep (front to back). Hello, you are viewing my listing for a LARGE Antique Pennsylvania Dutch Wood Trunk Storage Chest with Folk Art Painted Colors and Designs throughout. This trunk chest was found in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. It measures 29 and 3/4″ long by 19″ wide by 16 and 1/2 tall. There are wheels present on the bottom. This trunk is in good condition with some minor damage and wear present. There are no repairs. The front is missing a latch where it locks. This is an amazing Pennsylvania trunk with wonderful details and character. Please view all my photographs for further details. Please note all sales are final. Fancy paint decorated miniature chest with bracket base. This box has a wonderful decoration on the front and both sides featuring a toleware-like border on each corner and a stunning compote on the front. The black background is original paint and the decoration is a newer addition. This is an artisan reproduction made from old recycled pine with original surface. Constructed with square cut nails and miniature brass hinges and even a till inside. Note the little glue blocks on the feet. Antique 1855 Folk Art Painted Norwegian Immigrant Domed Top Trunk Travel Chest

Antique dome top Norwegian folk art painted travel chest or trunk measuring approx. 43″ long x 22″ wide x 21 tall, in total. It has 3 colors of paint – blue, red, black and green and bears a name on the front and the year 1855. It has sustained some moves over the course of its life, and so there are small pieces of wood missing on the corners of the lid and back panel, scratches, wear to paint, some shrinkage related cracks. Most of this shown or can be seen in the photos(need more just ask). One of the large domed top nails came out and is in the storage tray in case you want to add it back. Square nail construction, sturdy and heavy piece that clearly was made to survive a voyage. Blanket chest in grain painted mustard yellow with stacked bun style feet, measuring approx. 37″ long x 18.5″ wide x 22 tall, in total. Solid construction with s. Quare nail construction, sturdy and beautifully crafted &. There is an inner storage tray with lid, but it does not have a key. It has blemishes sustained during regular use or during several moves over the course of its life, and so there are small pieces of wood missing on the edges of the lid trim, scratches & wear to paint, wood shrinkage gap in a bottom board. The wood beneath the hinges was replaced at some point as well. There is a water stain on the top. Most of this is shown or can be seen in the photos(need more just ask). The item “19c. Forged iron strapping, large hand carved dovetails, wide boards, original paint and hardware, this is a stunning antique Scandinavian pine immigrants trunk from 1882. Originally from a Minnesota estate. 42 by 21 by 21. Some wood damage at corners, worm holes but those guys are long gone. Good sturdy handles, all period and original.
