Original Swedish Dala Horse. Large: about 10inch high. Very good condition, but some same mark on the – please check pictures. Most of the Dala horse come without signature or year, but this one is signed and dated. Comes from swedish family, where grandfather was doing Vasaloppet. V asaloppet (swedish for’the Vasa-race’) is an annual long distance cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. As he was parcipiating in several ski race, now some of those dala horse is for sale. Please check my other listing for another color and year. Swedish Dala Horses are perhaps the most recognizable horse in the world and have a wonderful history and story behind their creation. It doesn’t get any more Swedish than this! The horses are handcrafted, and the timber comes from the slowly growing pine forests around Siljan in central Sweden. Handpainted by artisans, each horse is unique. Outsider Painting By Mary T Smith FOLK ARTIST-Brown Face. Brown Face (circa 1992). Smith was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, and spent most of her life as a tenant farmer and a cook for other families. She later moved to Hazelhurst, Mississippi, where she lived and worked until her death. After retiring, and with time on her hands, she began to paint. Smith said, I did it to pretty the place and please the Lord. Smith’s house and in its surrounding yard was located on one of Hazelhurst’s main streets and captured the attention of countless passers-by with its colorful displays of her work on roofing tin. In her paintings, Mary T. Smith used pieces of tin, scraps of plywood, scrap-metal sheets or other found materials. She worked with bold brush strokes, usually in one or two primary colors. Most of her paintings are figurative of animals or portraits, in a simple, child-like style, sometimes incorporating words or letters. Her lively figures are often depicted with both hands raised to heaven. Mary T Smith died in 1995 , at the age of ninety-one. Smith – I WE OUR. Rare Antique American Folk Art George Brown Painted Tin Doll House Toy The Best

This toy measures 14 3/4″ long x 10″ deep x 11 1/2 tall. Above the door is stenciled ” LITTLE FOLKS AT HOME”. I believe this toy dates to around 1880. The glass in the windows are replacements. The paint is all original. I believe the photographs give an accurate read as to the condition of this extremely rare toy. I’m not certain that this is a George Brown piece…. I Love this toy…. 1900s Apothecary in original brown paint. Comes from Salem Mass. All wood except for the drawer bottoms which are tin. All drawers have brass pulls and are numbered as is the wooden base.
