Dolores Hackenberger, born in 1936 and from. Pennsylvania is a self-taught listed artist known for her colorful Amish folk art themed paintings. She is referred to as the Grandma Moses of Pennsylvania. This beautiful painting depicts a colorful Amish country scene with children & adults at play outside a school house. Other details include quilts, horse & buggy, barns etc. NOTE: The wood frame was made by her son. Sight Size – 23 3/8″ L x 11 1/2″ H. With frame – 27 3/8″ L x 15 3/8″ H. Both Frame and painting are in very good preowned condition. There is some minor discoloration on the frame as well as 2 darker areas with a small hole in each one. This seems to be a natural part of the wood. All of this adds to the character of the piece. The painting colors are very rich and the many intricate details are well defined.
