Genuine rare wonderful folk art overlooking Hudson with steamship displaying 2 American flags, a sailboat, dock and row boat. The tall trees in the foreground and delicately colored sky seems directly influenced by the Hudson River Valley school of paintings. Oil painting rendered on old found 1/2′ thick piece of cherry wood. Interestingly, on the back of the painting, the wood displays marks made by a rip saw. Measures 6″ x 12″.

The painting is by Feng Ai Dong , created in December 1997 . It depicts a group of people carrying gifts, possibly for a celebration, against a snowy background. The painting is done in a folk art style with vibrant colors and simple figures. Titled “Under the Great Wall”. This is a beautiful and unique painting. The frame is real wood and it has a custom mat. It has not been professionally framed and is not sealed. The backing can be removed for access to the painting. The glass is very thick and heavy. The frame has some scratches which are pictured in the photos as well as some shading on the mat. Feel free to send questions. I did use google to interpret the writing on the painting and the mat.
