Folk Art 1876 Oil – Girl in the Woods. A charming oil study of a young girl in a forest setting. Well presented in a swept gilt frame with pierced details. Provenance: Smith McTaggart, Highcross Private Collection, Northamptonshire. The canvas has been relined. The painting has undergone some surface restoration, particularly to the upper left quadrant measuring at around 5cm. There is some craquelure to the surface. Light wear and stable cracking to the frame. Size: 47 x 34cm (18.5″ x 13.4″). Framed Size: 63 x 51cm (24.8″ x 20.1″). Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
