Original framed oil painting by Kowalski on canvas of winter village theme. The artist has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner “Kowalski”. The painting measures approx. 19.5″ by 23.5″ with the frame 27 by 31. Painting is in good condition with minor scratches on the upper left corner side of painting. The deep carved wood frame with linen matting is in good condition as well. Please take a good look at the photos as they constitute the remainder of our description. The artist was born in Sopron in Hungary in 1926. He was a student of the Academy of Budapest andduring the uprising in 1956 against Communism he escaped from Hungary to Vienna. He has become internationally known for his (typically East European style) “Naive” paintings depicting Village life in the four seasons in glorious colour. Children especially like his works as each one tells a story. He has exhibited in many Galleries throughout Europe, particularly in Munich, Vienna, Tokyo, and Harrods in London. C1830 Outstanding Wide American Lemon Gilded Folk Primitive Portrait Ogee Frame

This is an excellent c1830 American gilded frame. Original bright, gilded surface with excellent worn patina and bole reveal on 3 wide ogee molding. The frame is in great condition with minor wear/losses and measures 17 3/4 x 25 1/2 with a 12 3/4 x 20 1/2 rabbet. Cut down from a larger size at some point this frame has mitered corners and repainted ochre sides. This is an outstanding period lemon gild. Doll House Antique Folk Art Architectural Model Wood Ooak Red White Paint Aafa

DOLL HOUSE ANTIQUE FOLK ART ARCHITECTURAL MODEL WOOD OOAK RED WHITE PAINT AAFA. Up for sale is this wonderful old antique Primitive architectural building / model or doll house. This is a 2-story wood house that has a hipped roof. The roof does not come off but the back of the house has an opening so you can get inside!! It has a wood exterior with white / and off-white paint, green trim and a red roof, columns and porch. The red paint is all crackled as you can see in the pictures. The white paint has a lot of patina / grunge as you can also see in the pictures. There are two windows on the front upstairs and one window and a door under the shed roof porch. There are also four windows on right side of the house and none on the left side of the house. On the front, the floor of the porch is the same nice oxblood red color. The windows are simple, Primitive, Craftsman-style windows with green frames. The back of the house is open for easy access as you can see in the pictures. When you look inside, you can see wires and sockets for light bulbs. We don’t know what this would have been used for, perhaps a train set? We don’t know if the lights work or not. You can also see a little stair inside from the first to the second floor. Inside the house its all open. The house does have a lot of edgewear, scrapes, chips, crackle, alligatoring, nicks, grunge, fading here and there, scuffs and chips! The edge of the roof has some dings at the corners as you can see in the pictures. The house measures 23.5″ D x 15.5″ W x 21.5 H. Thank you for looking at this item. African American Folk Art Painting by Leon Collins: Giclee Reproduction of “Homestead Sunday”. This Giclee print on stretched canvas of a 2011 painting by Navasota, Texas folk artist Leon Collins, Homestead Sunday, represents a family eating scene. The original painting, which was a 36 by 49 acrylic on canvas, was commissioned by an admirer of Collins work, and resides in an unknown collection. This Giclee reproduction is 24 by 36 by 1, unframed. Multiple copies are available upon request. Leon Collins (1951-) is Navasotas local legend. While he has housed his Color of Life Gallery in several antique stores along East Washington Street, he is known for painting and displaying his treasures on the sidewalk in full view of passersby. According to fellow Navasota artist and sculptor Russell Cushman, Collins is the most successful artist in the Brazos Valley, and perhaps the most prolific artist that Texas has produced. Leon Collins is best known for portraying his many childhood memories, but his work includes a number of distinct phases and styles. Collins is an amazingly productive artist, painting one or more works a day. He sells them as fast as he can paint them, so original works of his are rare and hard to find. His life and works have been featured in Images of America: Navasota by Robin and Joy Montgomery (2012), Texas Live Magazine (2009), Texas Farm and Home Magazine (2019), Authentic Texas Magazine (2019), the Navasota CurrentRussell Cushmans blog, The Lufkin News, and the Navasota Examiner. 19th Century American Antique Landscape/Seascape Painting On Canvas. Canvas measures about 23″ x 34 1/2″. NOTE: SHIPS WITHOUT THE FRAME, FRAME IS TOO DAMAGED AND IS JUST TO SHOW HOW WE GOT IT. Oil on stretched canvas. The canvas has nice heavy paint texture throughout. Some alligatoring (craquelure) in spots, and one small tear/hole in sky. May have older touch ups in sky. Has some light paint overspray, (tiny white specks resting on surface) from careless housepainters painting near it sometime in its past. Could be professionally cleaned off if you ever had it cleaned. We have not cleaned it as the losses are somewhat expected being a 120+ year old painting. And they do not detract from everyday enjoyment at normal viewing distances. The painting has a great overall patina and aura about it, and will surely add interest to your home decor. Antique c. 1900 Folk Art Oil on Board Painting Winter Solace in Northeast

This is a lovely impressionistic / Folk Art c. 1900 oil painting done by an unknown artist on Academy Board which artistic base was well-used at the turn of the Century (1900) – this painting was done by the capable artist to create a very wintry scene where the centerpiece is a small early American Cape type of house nestled at the end of a large snow-covered field, all of which is surrounded by a rickety wooden post & beam fence – there is a path in the snow leading from the forefront of the painting towards the snow-bound house – the path crosses a long frozen duck pond in front of the house. The artist has done a masterful job of creating a feeling of quiet & cold solace as one views this small antique cape against a backdrop of very gray & dark- white clouds that fill the sullen sky above the house with the threat of more snow coming soon – in the right forefront, the artist has placed an ancient gnarled large oak tree leaning far to its right which appears to be near the end of its life, all of which suggests an ominous atmosphere – the large oak tree in the foreground also helps to create depth perception when one looks at the much smaller house & barn within the total picture. The artist has done an excellent job in using his palette of muted gray, white, brown, & black colors to produce the deep winter feeling of cold & solitude for the viewer – further juxtaposition of colors between the dark green of the row of pine trees in the background located behind the house help the off-white color of the house & the barn roof stand out against the foreground of the snowy white field & pond. The painting was done on an Academy Blackboard which is in very good condition for its antique age – the artist board measures a generous 18″ x 24″ size. The painting is greatly enhanced by its original walnut wooden frame – the frame measures 20″ x 24″ & is in very good antique condition.
