Antique 19thC NEW ENGLAND PANTRY BOX CELERY-GREEN PAINT AAFA Folk Art Primitive. Hands down one of the best pantry boxes I’ve handled as far as surface and form go (and size to boot). It’s approx 8″W across the top (by) 5.75″H. Chunky, thick, swamped with patina. Long, slender fingers of opposing arrangement snug to the body with symetrically placed iron nails. Body with straight, nailed seam. Flared and chamfered handle, carved mushroom pegs. Top and bottom boards are nailed not pegged. The handle sat against the box for a very, very long time undisturbed, when lifted you can see more of a yellowish color under it possibly the original color (see last pic).
