Unsigned, this pair of antique 19th century Miniature Folk Art Oil Paintings are very well painted. They each measure only 4″ by 5 1/4″ and are executed on grey academy board. Each miniature painting depicts country winter scene with snow-covered homes and bare trees. In one painting is a figure ice skating and another pulling a child on a sled. Under a strong black-light we found some small in-painted restorations which are so well done we struggled to find them in regular light. There is an extremely fine crazing to the surface of these paintings and they could benefit from a light professional cleaning.
