AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART RED PAINTED CHILD’S / DOLL’S TABLE / DESK & CHAIR SET. Up for sale is this wonderful little table and chair. It’s a small child’s table and it’s absolutely adorable. It has a little turned legs on the table with a small drawer in the side of the table. On top it has a little yellow border around the top of the table. The little yellow border is also on the chair seat. The chair is a cute little child’s chair with an open back with three vertical pieces of wood and an arched frame. This could be used for homework, school work, a desk or just decoration! It’s so cute!! The table measures 21. ” W x 15″ D x 18 H. We don’t know the age of this item but it looks early 20th century to us. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. There is a crack in the top as you can see in the pictures. There are round nails visible in the corners of the yellow border on the top of the table / desk. Really nice 1930’s – 1940’s toddler sized wooden toy table and two matching chairs, hand painted with little pink roses with red and green accents. Paint and finish is original. The set is in good used condition. Sturdy enough to be used for toddlers, take a close look at the pictures, some wear and tear also makes a great photography prop or use for dolls or bears as display. Table – 19″ wide by 17″ tall by 15 deep. Each Chair – 20″ tall by 12″ wide by 10 deep. Chair seat – 10″ by 10″ by 10. I have seen sets very similar to this one made by the South Bend Toy Company in Southbend Indiana from the 1930’s. I believe they were marketed as KINDERSETS. This one has an old paper label under one chair but it isn’t readable. Would look so cute in your Country Primitive Home! The item “SO CUTE! It held the washbowl and pitchers as well as a chamber pot on the lower shelf. This was the bathroom of its day. The side “handles” are not handles, but are in fact, towel bars used for the drying of hand towels. This grain paint is often called “smoke” decoration and is often seen in Pennsylvania Antiques. Condition: Excellent Well Cared for Antique Heirloom Condition. Finish does have alligatoring and minor blemishes that only add to the patina look of this piece. It is sturdy and has no scratches.
