A beautiful late 19th century handmade rocking horse. Painted gray with leather saddle seat. Ears and strap around nose are also leather. The eyes are made from what appears to be cast iron buttons, which can also be found accented the seat. The horse is mounted to a wooden base. AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART RED PAINTED CHILD’S / DOLL’S TABLE / DESK & CHAIR SET. Up for sale is this wonderful little table and chair. It’s a small child’s table and it’s absolutely adorable. It has a little turned legs on the table with a small drawer in the side of the table. On top it has a little yellow border around the top of the table. The little yellow border is also on the chair seat. The chair is a cute little child’s chair with an open back with three vertical pieces of wood and an arched frame. This could be used for homework, school work, a desk or just decoration! It’s so cute!! The table measures 21. ” W x 15″ D x 18 H. We don’t know the age of this item but it looks early 20th century to us. There are nicks, scrapes, small cracks, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. There is a crack in the top as you can see in the pictures. There are round nails visible in the corners of the yellow border on the top of the table / desk. Antique folk art painting of a dog. Frame measures- 15 3/4 inches top to bottom- 13 3/4 inches across. Painting image on front is- 11 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches. I bought this in Maine many years ago for myself. Now it is time to let it go. Missing areas of paint that someone has filled in many years ago. Yes it has condition issues- but to me the charm of the image overshadowed the condition issues. Paint is stable and in no danger of coming off. As you get further away the condition issues are not as apparent. The photos I took were meant to show condition. I have enjoyed the charm of this painting for many years. Antiques, Fine Art & Collectibles. Antique Primitive Folk Art Whaling Oil on Panel Painting Signed by R Costa 1840s. DESCRIPTION Antique primitive Folk Art oil painting. Depicting a large whale and three masted ships in the arctic regions this oil on wooden board has all the characteristics of primitive art. This antique oil on panel painting was painted and signed by the artist R Costa on the bottom right of the painting. Framed in its original period frame this piece is believed to date to the 1820’s -1880’s due to style and materials. The high skyline with clouds and icebergs would suggest the arctic circle for a backdrop location. Signed bottom right: R Costa I did locate another painting by the same artist: Whale with a Long Tail, painted by ships cook R. 1840 which is currently housed in the Shelburne Museum. This would make a great addition to your eclectic home, shop or restaurant decor. MEASUREMENTS Framed painting measures 18.5″ wide by 16.25″ tall by 1.25 deep and weighs 3lb 9oz. Painted panel measures 14″ by 11.75″ CONDITION This painting is in nice condition considering age. There is some chipping to the oil paint, there appears to be a paint smudge down near the bottom right and the painting would definitely benefit from a professional cleaning (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description). Best antique wooden fruit would be a Wow on any farm house table have never been a fan of the alabaster fruit so was thrilled to find these wood ones their paint is still vibrant has normal paint loss from age just looks good enough to eat! I have ever seen ones with this good of early paint. All are amazing the apples look like they were nesting apples 14 pieces in all along with an antique very dry bowl it has a great patina and does have a crack you can see in last two pictures but it is sturdy and stable. This is a great late 19th century / early 20th century painted tramp art frame. It appears as though this is painted black over a forest green base but its really hard to tell because some of the lighter green highlights appear on the surface….. Either way this frame generally appears as black / dark, dark green and has a great, dry, early surface. The frame is in excellent condition with minor wear and measures 14 1/2 x 16 3/4 with an 11 1/2 x 13 1/2 rabbet. Nice painted tramp art frame.
