19th Century American Antique Landscape/Seascape Painting On Canvas. Canvas measures about 23″ x 34 1/2″. NOTE: SHIPS WITHOUT THE FRAME, FRAME IS TOO DAMAGED AND IS JUST TO SHOW HOW WE GOT IT. Oil on stretched canvas. The canvas has nice heavy paint texture throughout. Some alligatoring (craquelure) in spots, and one small tear/hole in sky. May have older touch ups in sky. Has some light paint overspray, (tiny white specks resting on surface) from careless housepainters painting near it sometime in its past. Could be professionally cleaned off if you ever had it cleaned. We have not cleaned it as the losses are somewhat expected being a 120+ year old painting. And they do not detract from everyday enjoyment at normal viewing distances. The painting has a great overall patina and aura about it, and will surely add interest to your home decor.
