This unique Folk Art box is perfect for an office or living room. It is a good size, just right for important papers and photo’s. The decorations on the box are what really sets it off: the unicorn on the front is adorable and the top decoration actually has some perspective to it. The sides have oversized flowers. The condition of the box is good for its age: there are a number of scuffs and the bottom of the box appears to have been made of recycled wood. Signed Folk art CANE With natural bitterroot vine snake Painted Putnam valley

Here is an unusual folk art walking stick. This is a signed piece made by the late Volker Martin, former member of the Putnam Valley folk artists assoc. He would search the forests to find branches with bitter root vines growing around them. He would cut them off and decorate them with paint and some modeling to the eyes. The workmanship in this is incredible he really had a feel for his materials. One of his canes is owned by General Colin Powell, also one is in the collection of Prince Charles. Sadly Volker passed away 5 years ago. He did not make many pieces, this is a one of a kind. It is signed on the bottom as shown in photo. The piece measures 45″ n length, the snake is 1 1/2″ in diameter and the branch is about 2 in diameter. This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”. For sale is a President Abraham Lincoln Painted Portrait Oil on Wood Folk Art by H. Klink 73 in Used condition. This piece appears to be painted on an old table-top turned canvas. The wood has split over the years and does feel slightly loose if you wiggle it. This could be repaired. There are a few spots where the oil has started to “craze”. Some scuffs/scratches on the painting in different spots. There is a “makers mark” from the table-top that was painted over – located right next to his ear. The wood is damaged in 2 spots around the edges – see photos. This piece is “one of a kind”. Hand-painted on an old wooden table-top. President Abraham Lincoln without his beard.
