Rare Original WW2 US Army Bomber Bag Painted with Folk Art Japan Harry Hammel

Please check my other auctions. In this listing, we have an original, incredible one-of-a-kind bomber bag from WW2, owned by T/5 (Technician Fifth Grade) Harry R. What makes it so unique is the folk art on the bag, painted by the soldier during the war. This is guaranteed to be original, and it still has part of a Railway Express Agency sticker from Seattle with Mr. Hammel’s name on it. The bag itself is in very good shape for its age. The handle is torn, as you can see in the photos. On one side is painted T/5 Harry R. Hammel, 24th Mechanized Calvary Reconnaissance Troup. There’s actually an incredible PDF historical document that recorded the history of his squadron if you want to print it out and keep it with this piece: www. Cgsc. Contentdm. Oclc. Org/cdm/ref/collection/p4013coll8/id/2897. On the other side is painted a neat picture of Japan along with the places Mr. Hammel was assigned: Inducted at Fort Hayes, Columbus, OH; Basic Training at Ft. Trp at Moji, Kyushu, Japan. This would make a great centerpiece for a WW2 military collection! The bag has been stuffed with paper to protect it. Old Antique Vtg Dated 1916 Hand Painted Tin Folk Art Retablo Ex Voto Scarce Nice

This offering is for an antique 19th century hand painted tin Retablo Ex Voto. The painting was done in oils on tin and measures app. 7″ X 5″ The artwork features a view of four people on the left kneeling with something in their hands, looks like a stick and each of them has one. To the right is a saint or religious figure. At the bottom is a hand written description that includes a 1916 date in the first line. The condition is very nice with scattered wear, some losses and discoloration pretty much as seems to be typical. There are three tiny nail holes but there are no dents, creases or bends. This is an early 16 1/2 inch American Cloth doll with oil painted head. The seam runs down both sides and down the back of the head. The hair and facial features are very nicely painted. The body is cloth with separately stitched fingers. Painted areas show wear, but is all original. Dressed in her original hand stitched dress, apron and socks have been replaced.
