Early 1900s Antique ORIG Wooden Baltimore Trade Sign Folk Art AAFA Hand Painted

Very Rare and early trade sign. Came out of a baltimore basement. Double sided, hand painted store front sign. This is an early handyman sign. Paint is better on one side, but both sides have same writing. Artist name on bottom (see last photo) marked S. I haven’t done any research to see if he was a known sign painter in baltimore or not. Sign measures 43.5″ Tall x 23″ wide (at widest area) x 1.5 thick. Has very early cast iron mount in middle, may have been more originally but I haven’t seen signs of mounting holes to prove that. Sign has some wear, but overall no flaking to paint and very solid. Paint is great, and it is a true Baltimore City sign. Great antique folk art decoy this primitive guy has loads of charm he comes with this antique milking stool a great display tighter. He is a working decoy so lots of wonderful wear bottom has a crack which is normal in these decoys but it is stable he is 13 long with old tack eyes really a special little guy. Antique Lancaster Co. Pa Folk Art Painted Comb Wall Box Orig Yellow Paint AAFA

ANTIQUE PAINTED FOLK ART WALL COMB BOX! PA, circa late 19th early 20th century. An outstanding folk art comb wall box in original chrome yellow with red and green trim, hearts with 6 point stars, and lucky horseshoe shapes inside the red hearts, Bulls eyes in green and red with green and white polka dots overall. This is by far the most elaborately, folky painted box of this group of boxes by the same maker. The only apology is one of the up pointing arrows was broken off a long time ago and some minor splitting of the wood and minor abrasions to paint (see photos). The paint is in excellent condition for its age! I have owned this one for some time. A similar example by the same maker is currently listed on e-bay. This one is signed on the back by E. Early Aafa Antique Folk Art Primitive Wood Toy Child’s Sled With Orig Red Paint

EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE WOOD TOY CHILD’S SLED WITH ORIG RED PAINT. Up for sale is this cute large child’s sled. It’s in great condition for his age. It is a wood sled on the large, heavy duty size with metal runners underneath. It has heavy duty metal rings and iron protectors on the front and heavy duty metal struts holding the sled up from the runners. The sled is a nice red color which looks to be its original color. The paint is all rough and alligatored as you can see in the pictures. As you’d expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, rust, fading, scrapes, scratches, nicks, cracks, dings, worn off edges, edge wear, smudges and patina! What a great look!! It’s been well-loved and probably has lots of miles of downhill slides on it!! We’re not real sure how you steer it so we hope whoever had it was hanging on! On the back you can see that the wood has deteriorated over time. The tails of the wood are worn, missing and chewed up. The rest of the wood has cracks and has dried out over time. It measures 55″ L x 23″ W x 7.5 high. It’s VERY heavy and weighs about 34 lbs. !! We hope this helps! We will do our best to answer your questions. Thank you for looking at this item.
