Hand painted on stretched canvas this 13 ¾” by 16 ¾” Oval Oil Painting depicts a Young Boy stealing a sleeping Fisherman’s only fish. Century Painting is unsigned, but is in the manor of the artist, George Caleb Bingham (1811 – 1879). This humorous American Oil Painting comes in the original 19 ¼” by 22 ¼” gold gilt frame. In the close up photographs you will see some gesso chips and wear to the original gilding. Century was professionally re-lined and we have posted a black light photograph, which shows restorations to the tree and the Young Boy’s face. This original Oil Painting is now ready to display, and you will find it is listed without any reserve.
