Very interesting folk art hand carved & painted / decorated EMPTY grandfather clock case. Someone really took a lot of time to carve and decorate this. A variety of colors and designs. I do not know how old it it. Case does partially come apart. The mid/top section lifts off of the bottom piece. Case is 87″ tall, 21″ wide at widest spot, and 12.5 deep. Gorgeous antique hand-painted box with hinged lid, bracket feet, scalloped front apron, hand-wrought iron hardware, and a glorious chippy paint surface, blue with stylized leaf flourishes and a (very worn) yellow bird. The paint is old, and there appears to be an even older green paint beneath. Possibly with Pennsylvania German immigrants. The corner joints are rabbet joints. The hinges are strap hinges. CONDITION NOTES: Some notable paint loss, chippy surface, please view photos. There appears to be an even older green paint under the blue. Iron hardware is rusty and the hasp for some reason has been curled up. Some wood shrinkage, separating but holding together. Size: 13″ x 9-5/8″ x 7.25. Superb Miniature Paint Decorated Blanket Box or Document Box or Chest Folk Art

This is a wonderful miniature paint decorated blanket chest. It measure only 12″ wide x 7″ tall x 4-3/4 deep. Constructed of pine with tiny square cut nails it features a dark green background with red and yellow banding on the front with an urn and a cornucopia on the top. It has a wonderful cut out base as well. The dark green paint is original old paint. The decoration is a new addition. This little chest is a fabrication made from old vintage wood with original surface. The end grain and cut edges have been painted to match. It even has a small till inside. Antique SMALL PAINT DECORATED BITTERSWEET TRAY AAFA Primitive Folk Art. Wonderful little tray found in Lancaster County, PA. Probably first or second quarter 20th century. It measures approx 8.5 long. Glued joints and white petal decoration on black trim all on a ground of dry, fiery bittersweet paint. Aging varnish over the trim decoration has left the majority of the petals a buttermilk yellow color. Dusty with staining and a few hairlines in the bottom board. Any questions please ask. Rare Antique Alpheus Keech Folk Art Mini 21 Canoe Paddle Paint Decorated AAFA. Offered today is a Rare Antique Folk Art Miniature canoe paddle with Original Paint Decorated scene titled “Autumn Scenery”. To the local tourists. Signed “Autumn Scenery” “1000 Islands”. Measures 21-3/4″ long x 2-3/8″ wide. Highly collectible and sought after for their folk art qualities. NO repairs or in-painting/touchups. This example is especially fine and rare with the inclusion of the paddlewheel boat and autumn colored trees against the deep blue sky reflected in the water. Keech paddles are well known to collectors of rustic accessories. They are appreciated for their finely-detailed, painted scenes, as well as for the delicate quality of each carved paddle. They date from 1890 to 1920 and can turn up anywhere in the U. And Canada, since they traveled home with far-flung vacationers who had visited upstate New York. The maker of these paddles was Alpheus E. Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands region of northern New York. When he was 30 years old, while still making a living as a carpenter in the familys boat-building business, Alpheus began focusing his talents as an artist. In addition to producing large paintings of steamships, sailboats, and landscapes, he established a studio (pictured below) to make and sell small souvenirs, the most popular of which were his paint-decorated model canoe paddles.
