Cows Wading Into Stream Antique Folk Art Oil Painting

This is a lovely vintage c. 1920’s impressionistic oil painting depicting a fall scene where some cows are wading into a shallow stream probably located in New England – that it is a fall scene is evidenced by the background foliage which reflects the artist’s palette choice of muted oranges, yellows, browns, & greens to show the full range of New England fall colors which one sees when walking through a New England rural countryside – the artist has done an excellent job in showing the fall foliage colors reflecting off of the surface of this rural stream – the group of cows with their colors of dull brown, white & gray juxtapose nicely with the fall foliage colors against the bright blue sky & white clouds floating by & create a sense of depth to the painting. The painting measures 12″ x 16″ & is in very good condition for its age – the painted surface has been professionally cleaned to remove all old dirt & grit & tobacco stains & re-varnished to create the wonderful fall colors that the artist originally intended when he created this painting – the painting has been enhanced by a replacement gilded frame which is in very good condition – the frame measures 14″ x 18″ – please note that the photos were taken with various amounts of light on the subject painting; & due to the new re-varnish on the canvas, the photos may show some reflection from the brighter lights.
