For sale is an excellent Antique primitive early 19th century New England slide top wooden candle box with all original brown paint. There are many old wrought irregular nails visible near the edges of the box. The lid has a canted edge design, a very authentic old craftsmanship. Judging by its primitive form and patina, it is likely an early 19th century creation. The box measures approximately 11″ by 7″ at the top and 5 tall. The wood surface is well maintained over its long history of use. There is one minor loss for a top corner. Minor surface wears commensurate with age. Please see all photos from all angles for detailed condition. Overall, a unique antique primitive item waiting to be added to your early Americana/ country primitive/ folk art collection or to be put to practical use to hold your other treasures!
