Description of this piece: Offered here is a one-of-a-kind original painting by Dr. The image depicts and blue dog and a purple alligator in apparent race to get to the door of a sno-ball stand that is perched on a pier in the midst of a surreal swamp under a sky full of colorful stars. The frame is hand painted in multiple colors and is adorned with a multitude bottle caps, including some from local New Orleans brews. There is a heavy wire attached to the back for hanging. The dimensions (from the outer border of the frame) are approximately 14 x 18. The condition is excellent except there appears to be three small pieces of wood that have broken off in three of the corners of the frame (next to the cut triangles, as can be seen in the image). He popularized the phrase “Be Nice or Leave” in his paintings, which has become an internationally recognized part of his identity. Among the celebrities who have added Dr. Bob’s work to their private collections are Emmy Lou Harris, GiO The Burlesque Queen of New Orleans! , Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey Mariah actually posed with her Dr. Bob piece for People Magazine! , Billy Connolly, Isaac Tigrett, and The Reverend Howard Finster.
