DESCRIPTION: 1920′-30s early Evangelical Jesus Saves American folk art painting of gold painted (trailing vines/dove/lettering) over a faux wood paper lithograph mounted on board. SIZE: 20″H x 12″W. CONDITION: Overall good, the faux wood paper lithograph that is mounted on board has old dark paint touchups to scratches/loss (see side views photos 5/6), gold paint is nice, back has thin top layer of wood separation on side (photos 7/8). Note early Evangelical pieces are hard to find, this sign came from an old estate contents. SIZE 11 x 13 1/2″ (sight); 14 1/2 x 17″ (including frame). Quill and brush watercolor freehand. Large PA-type fraktur style presentation piece. Forceful and energetic with wonderful brilliant color. Very Decorative in fine period lemon gold frame. Ex estate of venerable Ohio auctioneer/collectors Tom and Carol Porter who had a great eye for interesting objects in as-found condition. CONDITION All in all, exceptionally clean as these things go. Examined and photographed outside frame. Only obvious problem is small tight tear on left side. Frame has repaired chips. Please examine the photos carefully. The photos tell the story. Please call the shop for concise in-hand condition reports. Please read the entire ad carefully, especially the condition report.
