Rare & Wonderful Vintage or Antique Eldred Wheeler Courting Mirror With Folk Art painted designs of sprigs of leaves that are heart shaped and flowers. The carved wooden decorative top is beautiful! There is the original Eldred Wheeler Cabinet Work Hingham, MA label on the rear of wooden backing of frame. Its a nice smaller size- measuring approx 13 5/8 tall x 6 7/8 wide with mirror being smaller. The mirror is 4 x 6. There is a leather strap hanger on back for wall display. Eldred Wheeler works are marvelous quality reproductions of 18th century antique furniture and accessories. Please SEE ALL PHOTOS! Condition is excellent, hardly any paint loss to mention and no chipping or splits in the wood. EARLY Sherenschnitte Folk Art Cut Out Water Color Painting AAFA Fraktur Museum

Unbelievably rare find of a fine old cut out, Scherenshnitte with fantastic water color portraits of man and woman. This would likely have been a Anniversary gift, Valentine, or simply a love token. There are no names so not likely a marriage announcement. Pennsylvania Dutch or Moravian art likely. The piece is professionally framed and appears mounted on old fabric as where there are losses to the paper there are small foxxing shadows where the missing leaves once were. There is some white photo flash in the pics, it is not in the artwork itself. The frame is newish (maybe 80’s) and its mat shows some discoloration. To me it is still fine condition to hang and certainly keeps the painting and cut out safe. The cut out is of a thick rag like paper. As mentioned, some small pieces are missing but overall amazing that it is still so intact. There is a folded seam showing faintly in the center. The cut out features birds, flora, and trees. The beautiful water color portraits are fantastic. I have supplied very close pics. Please zoom into to see the fine detail and brushstroke in both the portrait faces and in the beautiful heart border and red stripe swag down the center as well as the freely painted lettering and initials. The frame measures 14.5″ x 14.5″. The piece measures approximately 8″ x 8″. This will be expertly packaged with care. Old Antique AAFA Southern Paint Decorated Miniature Chest Folk Art Tennessee Box

Up for your consideration is one of my favorites of all time. This little miniature painted chest is just the sweetest little primitive thing ever. Original snipe hinges this six board chest i believe is yellow pine but not sure so look at the photos you may be able to tell. It has the boot jack sides and red ground with vibrant black decoration. This chest is signed inside the top to a little girl. It reads: for my sweet Sarah McInturff Carter County Tennessee 1807. Carter County is in the far east corner of Tennessee close to the Virginia, North Carolina Border. Tennessee was made a state in 1796. This is so early and special.. Painted pieces are very rare here in the south anyone who collects southern antiques and folk art will know what a real little treasure this is. It has the most wonderful surface and has been kept well because those snipe hinges break easily and they are intact. I have to downsize so in the next few weeks I will be posting some great pieces of folk art and antiques, check out my other auctions and check back next week. Antique French Dowry Chest Hand Painted Wedding Chest Folk Art Wedding Trunk

This is an antique French wedding chest, made of pinewood. This wedding trunk dates from the 19th century and is hand painted on all sides in a soft, spring green color (except for the back of the trunk, which has been repainted in the past, since it has a darker green color). The top of this French dowry chest features two painted floral wreaths with two initials in it (L & H) and the front and both short sides feature colorful, hand painted flower bouquets and floral designs. The bridal chest is in pretty good condition with wear, consistent with age and use; the originial lock is missing, the top of the chest has two large cracks and a chunk of wood missing, the paint has faded in some places, the bottom is a bit loose and there are traces of paint loss, splits, cracks, scuffs, chips, scratches, old woodworm holes (which have been treated) and general wear. It measures 24″ long x 12.2″ wide x 10.4 tall (61 cm x 31 cm x 26.5 cm). ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE MOLDING PEDIMENT CORNICE ORIGINAL GREEN PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this old architectural item. It’s a pediment, or cornice, or perhaps a mantel. We’re not sure what it was used for but we know it’s old. We don’t know how old but it has old square nails and that alligator, chippy paint. There are two newer metal hooks in the top of the pediment in the event you want to hang it. It measures 61.25″ W at the top of the corbel and 55″ W at the base.
