Whimsical Folk Art original painting of Fox in Snowy Forest by Georgia artist John “cornbread” Anderson. 18′ x 24″ inches on 3/8″ plywood. Cornbread has a primitive style all his own. Like most kids, he spent a lot of time exploring the fields and woods around him, never giving a thought to painting what he was surrounding by. While Cornbread had no early interest in painting, in 1995 he began to render his lively, energetic works that evoke his childhood experiences and early memories as well as his present day continuing interest in these same creatures. He is a self taught folk artist who skillfully renders the birds, quail, guineas, raccoons, deer, rabbits, dogs, foxes and many other animals of his home state in their native habitat and brings them to life in his bold, acrylic folk art paintings. John Cornbread Anderson, a true Southern gentleman, has emerged as a popular folk artist and his work is actively being added to private and corporate collections worldwide. Vintage Swedish Folk Art Kitchen Cabinet Doors Hand Painted Design Restored 1940
This is a pair of vintage kitchen cabinet doors salvaged from a Chicago residence c1940s. They are constructed of a composite material and have been completely restored. The whimsical Swedish folk art design was recreated and the colors matched. Glass will be added to the backs of the doors and I will also include simple chrome hinges as an extra (not installed Will leave that up to you). Each one measures 15w x 32 ½h. Red plastic and chrome deco handles are original. An entire kitchen should be built around these as they will be focal point in any room they are installed in. Also shown in my photos 2. Ad for a Swedish kitchen from the 40’s that reflects this very aesthetic. For someone bold enough to go with something truly non HGTV, these would be fantastic. Large Antique Wood Boot Folk Art Trade Sign with Early Old Paint Hanging Bracket
For your consideration is a wonderful old wood folk art boot trade sign with original red paint wood backboard and metal hanging bracket. This solid old wood boot measures 24″ tall from the heel to the old brass hanging ring and is 10 1/2″ long from heel to toe. This large, solid wood boot weighs 7 Lbs. The antique hanging backboard measures 33 3/4″ tall x 7 1/4″ wide and is 7/8 thick. The old metal bracket protrudes 7 7/8 out from the backboard. Original red paint on the backboard and early saw marks. There is a hanging wire on the back as well as two holes at the top for additional hanging strength. The backboard itself weighs over 5 Lbs. The old wood boot is probably 100 years old but the black paint, gold lettering and red heel were added at a later date. Areas of paint wear and scrapes as my pictures will show.
