AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE PULL TOY WOOD HORSE ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED BLACK. Up for sale is this wonderful wooden toy horse. His body is a black color while his saddle blanket is a grey linen backed material. He has a dark red, dry leather? Harness and hand painted red bridle, white eyes and red nostrils. He has a patch of white where his mane was and a little white thing for a tail. Hes in good condition considering his age and has some scrapes, paint loss, nicks and wear. His ears are a little dinged up and one ear is missing a piece of wood. Hes on a pull toy base with iron wheels that are inside the wood. This makes him pretty old. His base is a wood base with red filigree trim. The wheels are black. Hes a cute horse with a great attitude! As youd expect, there are scuffs and paint loss, nicks, dings, edge wear, smudges and patina! He measures 10.25 long x 3.75 wide (at the base). The base is 1.75 H and the horse, on the base is 10 H. For your consideration, a Black Forest Wag Wall clock with a beautiful folk art style floral and geometric painted dial. Note this is NOT a working clock – it is missing the weights, pendulum and keys for winding. The dial is 9.5″ w x 13.5″ h. It’s slightly curved, in a convex fashion, but that would not affect the working of the clock. The entire unit is 15″ tall and 6.5″ deep. The chapter ring is 8.75 in diameter. Original and authentic circa 1930s-40s hand painted, folky Art Deco wooden trade sign with a lady’s head. Both sides show significant wear which is also part of the aesthetic appeal. There is overall cracquelure in the paint and one side has loss on the woman’s head. There looks like a little bit of touch up to the black only, just in a few letters. The wood is plywood and the lettering is copied from a common porcelain beauty parlor sign that does not have a lady’s head or any other image. One of a kind and totally unique.
