Antique Folk Art Old Paint Carnival Gambling Game Wheel Philadelphia Pa Dominoes
Antique Folk Art Old Paint Carnival Gambling Game Wheel Philadelphia Pa Dominoes. Neat old gaming wheel. Dates to the early 1900s. Maybe even late 1800s. Metal spokes are marked Something bearing Co Philadelphia Pa. I used to hang it with the domino side out via some metal wire wrapped around the nails on the back side. 1 and 5/16 inches across for the wood. 2 and half inches from nail to nail. Condition: Good overall condition. One area of paint touch up on the red border of the numeral side. Some writing on the numerical side. The dominos side looks real nice. I had this piece for a while before I noticed the repaint (mainly because I only displayed the domino side). Some other areas of wear and paint loss. Some minor wood loss along the borders. Some age crackling to the paint. The item “Antique Folk Art Old Paint Carnival Gambling Game Wheel Philadelphia Pa Dominoes” is in sale since Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Early Aafa Folk Art Antique Wood Carnival Game Wheel Bicycle Original Paint
EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s yellow with black letters and blue trim. On the other side, you can pretty much just see the yellow wood part. The numbers on the front side range from 1 to 120 and start with 1, 21, 41, 61, 81, and 101, then 2, 22, 42, etc. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 31.5 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk!
