Features wood cut letters of the German word’Erinnerung’ at top, meaning memory, and the date 1904 at bottom. Shallowest portion of frame has a reddish brown fabric accent. Frame has 6 or 7 layers, and measures 1 1/2 thick overall. There is no damage aside from some staining to fabric layer. All from a private collection that belonged to a single owner. 1915 Tramp Art/Folk Art picture frame/green vine/flower buds/orange&silver stars

1915 tramp art/folk art picture frame in house form. Green vines trail on the left and right with dark wooden “flower buds” hanging from the vines. More flower buds decorate the top center of the frame over a background of a green notched star and centered with a small silver notched star. There are two painted four-pointed stars in the lower left and right corners, a silver star overlaid with a smaller reddish-orange star. There is a hard paper backing to hold the photo in place behind the glass, but the backing is only held in place by some rusty old thumbtacks, which I will remove. Measures overall 14 1/4 inches by 17 inches; opening for photo, 3 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. Nice construction and great condition! RARE Antique Primitive Early American Folk Tramp Art Heart Wood Picture Frame

Very unusual and rare piece of Early American history! This tramp art frame is a great piece of folk art, with wooden hearts on each corner and splayed wooden pieces coming out from each side of the frame, each one hand carved. It is pretty deep, so it could have originally been used as a shadow box for a mourning wreath or something else. Hangs horizontally, but could be changed to hang vertically. Measurements: 17″ tall x 20″ wide x 2 deep. Inside of frame: 9.5″ x 6.5″. Condition: In as found condition. Will need a back, wire, and glass for framing. Also, missing half of one of the hearts. One of the pieces on the sides moves and it may be missing a decorative piece on the side, hard to tell. For its age, it is actually in pretty decent shape. Very interesting folk art hand carved & painted / decorated EMPTY grandfather clock case. Someone really took a lot of time to carve and decorate this. A variety of colors and designs. I do not know how old it it. Case does partially come apart. The mid/top section lifts off of the bottom piece. Case is 87″ tall, 21″ wide at widest spot, and 12.5 deep. Mexican Folk Oil Painting Hector Aguilar Deer Silver Turquoise Tramp Art Frame

We are presenting an incredible original oil painting on Masonite by Mexican master silversmith Hector Aguilar 1905 – 1986. Dwayne gifted the painting to Cecile In 1995. There is a note in Spanish on the reverse: Esta pintiro colgo en una joyeria en Taxco, Mexico propiedad del famoso platero Hector Aguilar. Translates to: This painting hung in the jewelry shop in Taxco, Mexico owned by the famous silversmith Hector Aguilar. The painting is on masonite measuring 28″ x 24″. It is mounted in a great tramp art frame. The frame is probably original to the painting but we suspect the masonite was simply nailed unframed to the wall in “Taller Borda” as there here are 2 or 3 nail holes visible at each corner of the Masonite. Most likely framed after it was removed from Taller Borda. The very appropriate tramp art frame measures 34″ x 30″ x 2. Weighs 15 lbs net before packing. We think the painting is just wonderful with a Mexican “Virginia” White Tailed stag deer wearing several necklaces of silver and turquoise. (The stag is a frequent subject of Hector’s silver creations). A silver and turquoise belt hangs in the back ground extending across the table. On the table, a traditional Mexican vase, bowl of raw turquoise nuggets and a primitive jeweler’s drill. The painting is signed H. Aguilar at bottom right. It is signed Hector Aguilar 1942 on the verso appearing as the same likeness to the signature on the painting. The top frame signed Merry Christmas Cecile. The painting is in good condition and is ready to hang as is. It could use a professional cleaning and has a few scattered inconspicuous blemishes including a circular mark under the stag’s right ear. There is no inpainting or touch ups detected under a black light. The frame is in good condition with a few very minor blemishes. Although Hector is referred to as an artist, designer and silversmith we have not found any paintings by him to compare. Many Mexican silversmiths were artists before becoming silversmiths including his friend Valentin Vidaurreta who encouraged and financed the opening of Taller Borda. All said we are quite confident that this painting is by the master silversmith Hector Aguilar and hung in Taller Borda in Taxco, Mexico. It will make a nice addition to any Mexican art collection, folk art, for the avid H. Silver collector and it would be great in a shop that sells Mexican silver jewelry. C1900 Outstanding PAINTED TRAMP ART ADIRONDACK Primitive Folk Art Antique Frame

This is a great late 19th century / early 20th century painted tramp art frame. It appears as though this is painted black over a forest green base but its really hard to tell because some of the lighter green highlights appear on the surface….. Either way this frame generally appears as black / dark, dark green and has a great, dry, early surface. The frame is in excellent condition with minor wear and measures 14 1/2 x 16 3/4 with an 11 1/2 x 13 1/2 rabbet. Nice painted tramp art frame.
