Original and authentic circa 1930s-40s hand painted, folky Art Deco wooden trade sign with a lady’s head. Both sides show significant wear which is also part of the aesthetic appeal. There is overall cracquelure in the paint and one side has loss on the woman’s head. There looks like a little bit of touch up to the black only, just in a few letters. The wood is plywood and the lettering is copied from a common porcelain beauty parlor sign that does not have a lady’s head or any other image. One of a kind and totally unique. This is a wonderful piece of Folk Art or painted art from a roadside stand in Indiana. This ear of corn is hand painted on an old wooden ironing board and was hung on a wall as a trade sign for a corn farm stand. This is a unique one of a kind piece of art. The sign dates from somewhere in the early to mid 20th century and is in wonderful condition. The surface shows some age and the mounting holes show very wear which indicates that the sign would have been taken down in the off season. The ear of corn is 53 7/8″ tall x 15″ wide and could be hung both vertically or horizontally. Like us on face book. Antique Circus Carnival Door Light Sign Advertising Camel Signed Oil Painted Art. Offered here is an amazing antique circus piece in need of restoration. This piece appears to be a door of some sort and has a beautiful painted camel on it. The wood door has an interesting shape and you can see the where it wouldve been mounted kind of like a door. It also has old light sockets around the outside and mustve looked stunning when light up in the golden age of circuses and carnivals. A helpful eBayer has identified it as a panel form a. And Antique Dentzel Carousel. It appears that the original panel painting of “caution” was painted over with this camel in order to jazz it up, or the caution has faded over time while the rest of the painting has not. Unfortunately, the oil painting portions have suffered damage over the years and need the care and skill of a restorer if you want the sign back in original condition though keeping it the way it is has it its own perks of knowing it has never been touched in terms of restoration as well. Well leave that up to you. I also do not think the light sockets (where present) are likely to still work. The piece has been signed (bottom right) but I cannot read the name of the artist that painted the camel. Bout 81″ tall and about 42″ wide at the widest point near the top. CONDITION: Overall good, the faux wood paper lithograph that is mounted on board has old dark paint touchups to scratches/loss (see side views photos 5/6), gold paint is nice, back has thin top layer of wood separation on side (photos 7/8). Note early Evangelical pieces are hard to find, this sign came from an old estate contents. Old Antique Vtg Ca 1930s Hand Painted Folk Art Sign County Recorder Sheet Iron

This offering is for an antique circa 1930’s to 40’s folk art hand painted sign. The sign reads COUNTY RECORDER on one side only and it appears to have been connected to a post at some point. The length is app. 16″ long and 12″ high. The sign is made of heavy metal which I think is probably sheet iron. The condition is excellent as seen in our photo’s with no bends, breaks, dents or repairs. The painted surfaces have minor losses as should be expected but nothing severe.
