Peter Ompir Folk Art Decorative Painted Duck Decoy Signed Very Rare. Sensational painted details with vibrant colors and signature Ompir antiqued finish. Magnificent, highly collectible and very rare Peter Ompir folk art painted duck decoy will add charm and style to any space with most any décor! Ompir was often referred to as the “Dean of Decorative Painting”. He was trained in fine art at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the National and American Art Academies. He moved to New York City and began painting in the middle of the Depression era in the 1930s. Stunning antique carnival game wheel. Hand painted in a beautiful burnt orange with folk art accents in muscle red, black, and white. Numbers are done in gold. Condition is great and consistent with the age and use of wheel. Some minor chipping to numbers and paint as well as some denting to wood. Hardware still attached to back of wheel and it spins smoothly. This will make beautiful inside or outside decor. Wheel measure 32 in diameter. Painting depicts a stunning panoramic Scottish Highlands landscape scene of Thurso near Oldfield 1860. This scene is highly detailed with expansive historical view including homes, churches, people, and animals. Very rare to find such early detailed historical paintings such as this. Painting is signed lower right B Wilson 1886. Painting measures 18 X 24 inches and comes in its original antique frame measuring 22 X 28 inches also. This is one of the nicest detailed panoramic folk scenes I have ever offered! This piece would make a fabulous addition to anyones fine Scottish folk art collection or home. Painting had some previous restoration with varnish which would have cost a considerable amount alone to complete. JUST MIND BLOWING THE INFORMATION PROVIDED, HE PAINTED THE EXACT ADVERTISEMENTS FOR THAT DAY AND AGE. LOOKING AT NOT ONLY THE DETAIL ONE MUST NOTICE THE STYLE HE NOT ONLY PAINTED IN HIS NORMAL FLAT AND SHARP TONES BUT ADDED A BLOTCHY TEXTURE TO THE CANVAS THAT REALLY GIVES IT THE STONE WALL EFFECT. HE MUST HAVE BEEN KEEPING IN MIND WHERE THIS WAS GOING AND KNEW IT WOULD FIT THE TONE OF THE WALLS OR INTERIOR TO A PERFECTION. THERE IS A FEW LIGHT SCRATCHES DEPICTED IN PHOTOS AND AS YOU CAN SEE THEY ARE SURFACE PAINT SCRATCHES. MEANING THESE SCRATCHES DID NOT GO THROUGH THE CANVAS IN ANY WAY. WITH A LITTLE TOUCH UP THEY WILL NOT BE NOTICEABLE THESE LIGHT AND FEW SCRATCHES ARE MAILY LOWER AREA OF THE PAINTING REFER TO PIC’S. HANGING ON THE WALL THESE LIGHT SCRATCHES WOULD NOT EVEN BE NOTICEABLE TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH EITHER WAY VERY WORTHY OF BEING PAMPERED, FOR YOURSELF AS A GOLFER OR FAN OF GOLF. I LOVE THE CHICAGO ADVERTISEMENT 1924 LOWER BOTTOM STATING AT TIME THE ISSUE COSTED 25 CENTS WOW WELL THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE LOL.
