RARE SET OF 6 EARLY AMERICAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SIDE CHAIRS CIRCA 1800’s HAND PAINTED. Up for sale is this amazing set of 6 Early American Pennsylvania Dutch chairs. They have turned legs and painted backs, seats and legs. They are a Hitchcock style chairs with hand-painted floral designs with yellow, green, black and faded white colors on the backs and they have painted seats and legs of white and yellow designs. All 6 chairs match. The stain on the chairs is a deep, rich brown color all nicely patina-ed. The back of the backs of the chairs are plain brown. There’s wear on the seats and one some of the edges where people rubbed over the years. We think these are from the 1800’s but they might be earlier, we’re not sure as we are not experts in the ages of things. The chairs are sturdy. Some of the back of the backs have some little scrapes and wear as you can see in the pictures. The seats show wear, variation in color. And nicks in the finish. Some of the footrests also show wear and loss of stain from rubbing shoes and feet on the rungs. Some of the rungs are just a little loose as you might expect from years of use. Have nicks, chips, edgewear and wonderful patina on them as you’d expect from chairs of this age! The chairs measure 33 inches H x 19 inches W at the backs (15.25 W at the seats) x 14 inches D. This is a fabulous (hard-to-find) set of 6 chairs. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. Thank you for looking at this item. Let us know if you have any questions. Antique Game Rack Pennsylvania Dutch Tulip Paint Carved Wood Iron Hooks Folk Art
An antique wall-hanging game, fowl, or herb drying rack. Handmade and hand painted milled wood with a carved crown and five original embedded wrought iron hooks. The dealer we bought it from said it was probably late 1800s. We have seen closely similar racks identified as Pennsylvania Dutch and this rack shows a style of tulip painting that has much in common with known Pennsylvania museum pieces like the example in Henry Kauffman’s book Pennsylvania Dutch American Folk Art (see photos). We are not experts: please use your experience to evaluate; questions and comments are welcome. The rack has an interesting free-flowing floral painted decoration in blue, orange, teal green, white, and yellow. The design blends nicely with Norwegian rosemaled folk art; we used it to hang hand knit Norwegian mittens, Scandinavian acanthus carved meerschaum pipes, and wood chain wedding spoons from Norway. Condition is as pictured, structurally sound. Note a wood knot or an old filled hole between the far left 2nd and 3rd hook. Measures 36 inches long, 5. Inches high, and 2. Some who have seen it think it may have been cut down from a longer original. The upper molding may have doubled as a plate rail. Note that we shoot our pictures under several bright daylight lights to bring up detail; the rack looks darker in room light. Thank you for looking, questions are welcome. All items are from a smoke and pet free home. We take pride in our many clearly focused photographs. Please study all pictures as they are part of the description. READ ABOUT OUR GALLERY. FINE AMERICAN RED FLAME PAINTED ANTIQUE BLANKET CHEST. 1830-50, preserved in nearly untouched original condition Item # 1402BQS21PA. This is a very fine and remarkably well preserved antique American blanket chest with a delightful flame painted original surface, the whole executed very skillfully to imitate match booked mahogany veneers. Originating from the Southeastern counties of Pennsylvania, this chest was crafted in the second quarter of the nineteenth century. The molded edge is affixed to the top with wooden pegs around the perimeter, this lifting over original iron hinges (retaining original hand filed screws) to reveal a clean and large interior. The till on the left has a panel beneath it, originally lockable but now easily opened by pulling to reveal two small drawers, each handsomely crafted with tidy dovetails and nailed bottoms, retaining their original turned wooden knobs. The bottom of the case is attached to the sides with large wooden pegs driven through the underside into the frame, each corner having a square wooden block affixed with square iron nails into which the large dowels of the feet are sunk. The feet are beautifully turned balls topped by a sharp ring, each well worn and attractively patinated. Nearly untouched and retaining originality in every aspect of the case, this is an outstanding addition to the period interior. 47″ wide x 22 1/16″ deep x 25 1/4 high. Condition Report: No keys. The hidden panel is missing it’s lock. Scratches and wear as expected to original painted finish. Wear to the feet. Scroll down to view all photos for a full overview of condition. This is a beautiful, rare Amish 3d hand-carved painting by Sam Zook, of the Kinzers, Pennsylvania, Zook family. Sam Zook worked in tandem with Abner Zook before Abner’s death, releasing at least one work by the two of them together. I tried to capture the depth of the carved figures through the photos. This is wood-carved in deep relief. It is quite heavy, I’m estimating around 15 lbs. The size of the frame is 17 5/8″ square, with the inner image measuring at 13 1/8″ square. The depth of the frame, not including the carving that extends beyond the frame, is 2 1/8. The item “Very Rare Zook Amish 3d Hand Carved Painting Folk Art Kinzers Pennsylvania” is in sale since Tuesday, April 9, 2019. This item is in the category “Art\Folk Art & Indigenous Art”. The seller is “lorixle” and is located in Louisville, Kentucky. This item can be shipped to United States.

Gorgeous antique hand-painted box with hinged lid, bracket feet, scalloped front apron, hand-wrought iron hardware, and a glorious chippy paint surface, blue with stylized leaf flourishes and a (very worn) yellow bird. The paint is old, and there appears to be an even older green paint beneath. Possibly with Pennsylvania German immigrants. The corner joints are rabbet joints. The hinges are strap hinges. CONDITION NOTES: Some notable paint loss, chippy surface, please view photos. There appears to be an even older green paint under the blue. Iron hardware is rusty and the hasp for some reason has been curled up. Some wood shrinkage, separating but holding together. Size: 13″ x 9-5/8″ x 7.25.
