It also was produced c1835 (pre 1900). Really wonderful American Folk portrait miniatures of a family from a New Orleans estate. Obviously a Father, Mother and Child, all by the same artist, all identical oval format, framed and matted identically in carved wood and molded gilt frames with later hangers, original gilt wood matts. The condition of the miniatures are fine, the frames having chips from the molding in various places but generally in very good original condition. Overall each frame is 5 3/4″ x 5 1/4″. Charity Hospital flooded badly during Hurricane Katrina and has been closed ever since. The image strikingly depicts the hospital at night, under a black sky sparkling with multicolored stars. The windows of the hospital are ablaze with bright lights of many colors while an American flag waves in the entranceway. Above the hospital image Dr. Bob has painted the words: Charity: Where the Miracles Happened and the Unusual Occured. The hand-painted frame is adorned with bottle caps, some from local breweries. Bob has signed in the lower left corner. There is a heavy wire attached to the back for hanging. The dimensions (from the outer border of the frame) are approximately 13 x 13. Description of this piece: Offered here is a one-of-a-kind original painting by Dr. The image depicts and blue dog and a purple alligator in apparent race to get to the door of a sno-ball stand that is perched on a pier in the midst of a surreal swamp under a sky full of colorful stars. The frame is hand painted in multiple colors and is adorned with a multitude bottle caps, including some from local New Orleans brews. There is a heavy wire attached to the back for hanging. The dimensions (from the outer border of the frame) are approximately 14 x 18. The condition is excellent except there appears to be three small pieces of wood that have broken off in three of the corners of the frame (next to the cut triangles, as can be seen in the image).
