Antique 1820s NE Folk Art Miniature Painted Wooden Windsor Rocking Chair aafa

A Windsor chair is a chair built with a solid wooden seat into which the chair-back and legs are round-tenoned, or pushed into drilled holes, in contrast to standard chairs, where the back legs and the uprights of the back are continuous. The seats of Windsor chairs were often carved into shallow dish or saddle shape for comfort. We are pleased to offer this Antique Miniature Painted Decorated Handmade Wooden Windsor Spindle Rocking Chair from New England, circa 1820 to 1840. The Antique Miniature Rocking Chair was decorated by the Best New England traditional red paint with a band of gold that adorns the wooden seat front. The painted surface has an alligator finish as seen on the spindles (see photos). The Windsor Rocking Chair is a perfect darling miniature size and can sit table top being 14 1/2 inches in height and is 8 inches at the widest. The Antique Windsor Miniature Rocking Chair has a classic spindle shape with the rockers and spindles being strong and sturdy. There is an old strong repair on the shaped wooden seat that adds character and authenticity to the early rocker. A closer look will reveal a few soft puppy bite indentions on one of the antique rockers. These all are beautiful characteristics of use and age and does not diminish the beauty of this early miniature that is well over 150 years. The Antique Windsor Miniature Rocking Chair is in strong and sturdy condition with age appropriate wear and patina. They just do not get any more endearing than this classic New England Miniature. 18 1/2 Inches High, 13 Inches Wide, and 13 Inches Deep. A great old homemade American ingenuity gameboard. This did not come from a fancy household, appears home-made & make-do. The back is a bit grubby and there are some cracks from shrinkage. See pic of back to see most clearly. Has green border with black and red painted checkerboard. There are hand scribed lines between /surrounding all the squares. The paint is old original, there is a lot of wear to the green edges where game pieces. Cuffs, and player’s hands would cause the most wear. 22″ x 16″ x 3/4. Early Aafa Antique Primitive Folk Art Firkin Wood Bucket Original White Paint

EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART FIRKIN WOOD BUCKET ORIGINAL WHITE PAINT. Up for sale is this wonderful white and blue firkin!! Some people call them a flour buckets, sugar buckets, pales or pantry boxes!! Wow, look at the wonderful color and character of this cute little firkin!!! It appears to be their untouched original paint. It’s a white, off-white color on the sides and a blue-ish green (it’s not blue) color on the lid. We’re not sure if the lid is original. This firkin is the small in stature but large in character! It has a wire handle with a wood grip on it and a small metal escutcheon where the wire handle connects to the firkin. It has finger bands and they are nailed and then at the end they have a little staple in them. The bands and the staves are pretty tight on this firkin. This firkin is very clean inside but it’s lid has some wear and loss around the bottom rim of the lid as you can see in the close up picture of the lid. Inside the firkin has white drips as you can see in the pictures. The color is creamy, grungy off-white and not a white white. The lid is a blue-ish green. The paint is crackled, dry and very flat in finish. This firkin measures 7″ at the bottom and 6.25″ at the top (outside of lid) and it’s about 6.75 high. It weighs about 1.25 lbs. This firkin is painted and has some fading, crackling paint, edgewear, divots in the surface, streaks, paint loss, wood missing here and there, streaks, paint loss, paint chips, grunge and patina. DOLL HOUSE ANTIQUE FOLK ART ARCHITECTURAL MODEL WOOD OOAK YELLOW PAINT AAFA. Up for sale is this wonderful old antique Primitive a. Rchitectural building / model or doll house. This is a 2-story wood. House that has a gable roof and a cute little dormer on the front. The roof does not come off but the bottom is open (no bottom) so you can get inside!! It has a wood exterior with yellow paint and green trim. The paint is all crackled and grungy / patina-ed as you can see in the pictures. The roof is made from asphalt shingles and it’s green. There’s a gable on each end left and right and a little, small dormer / gable on the front of the house. The little dormer has a wood roof. The outside of the house is yellow crackled paint with grunge-patina. The windows are simple, Primitive windows with a little brown decorative element over the top of them. The front door is brown wood and does work on its little hinges. The back of the house is a red painted couple of pieces of wood. The trim around the roof is green and so is the “base” of the house which is a line around the bottom of the house meant to look a little bit like a raised foundation. Inside the house it’s all open. It is painted inside a very light, soft robin’s egg blue color. It’s pretty dusty inside. On the back wall there’s a large paper picture of 3 boys, 3 teddy bears and their mother. The house has 13 windows (5 on the front and 4 on each side) and 1 door on the front. The windows are clear glass and all but one (front upstairs middle window) have the glass still in tact. You can see through the first and second story windows. The back of the house is just a wall. Overall the paint is in really old, but great-patina shape considering its age. The house does have a lot of edgewear scrapes, chips, crackle, alligatoring, nicks, grunge, fading here and there, scuffs and chips! The house measures 12.5″ wide x 10.5″ deep (at the yellow part) and 13.25″ long x 12.5″ wide at the roof line x 15 high to the top of the roof gable. It weighs about 8 lbs. American Folk Art Primitive Bentwood Pantry-Box Red Painted AAFA. This terrific pantry-box features a nice dry painted finish, originally painted blue and later on in red. I have done nothing to alter/add/detract from this wonderful pantry-box “as found” from an elderly gents estate here in NH. Box is approximately 8.25″ in diameter and 4″ deep. There is one fine line in the woodgrain (last 3 pics) that does not affect integrity, just adds character. All the nails and pegs around the bottom are original and no splits or problems, the lid goes on and off with a nice fit/feel. 3 Early Aafa Antique Primitive Folk Art Firkin Wood Bucket Original Paint Stack

(3) EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART STACK FIRKINS BUCKETS ORIGINAL PAINT. Up for sale are these wonderful set of (3) firkins!! Some people call them a flour buckets, sugar buckets, pales or pantry boxes!! Wow, look at the wonderful color and character of these!!! They all have what appears to be their original paint. They are a white, off-white and one is a mustard color. Here’s the condition of each one. Small Off-white firkin in the top of the stack: This firkin is the smallest of the three and has a wire handle with a wood grip on it and a wire loop and escutcheon where the wire handle connects to the firkin. This one has finger bands and they are nailed up at the top wooden band and at the end of the finger band it has a little staple in it. Then, the bottom band is metal and it’s rusty around the edges. The bands and the staves are pretty tight on this firkin. This firkin is very clean inside but it’s lid has some wear and loss around the bottom rim of the lid as you can see in the close up picture of the lid. The color is creamy off white and not as white as the big one on the bottom. The paint is crackled, dry and very flat in finish. It appears to be the original paint. This firkin measures 8″ at the bottom and 7.75″ at the top (outside of lid) and it’s about 8 high. It weighs about 2 lbs. Mustard Color firkin in the middle of the stack. This firkin is a nice large sized firkin with a wood handle with a wood knobbin where the handle connects to the firkin. This one has regular ended band on the top with three little nails in it and the other bands on the firkin are finger bands. They are nailed the ends and there is one band at the top of the firkin and two at the bottom. The top band and the top of the bottom two bands are just a little loose. The staves are fairly tight on this firkin. This firkin is also very clean inside. It’s lid is not painted and is a wood color (not mustard painted like the firkin) but the lid is in good shape considering it’s age. This is not the original lid to this firkin. This firkin is a nice mustard color and the paint is dry and patina-ed. This firkin measures 12″ in diameter at the bottom and 11.5″ in diameter at the outside of the lid. It’s about 12.25 high and weighs about 4.5 lbs. Large off-white firkin at the bottom of the stack. This firkin is huge and is the largest of the three and has a. Wood handle with a wood knobbin where the handle connects to the firkin. This one has regular ended bands and they are nailed up at the top wooden band and at the two bottom wooden finger bands. The ends of the two bottom bands are nailed. The top and first of the bottom two bands are fairly tight. The bottom bottom band is just a little loose. This firkin is more white than the top one and the paint is crackled, chipped and aged with just a little patina. The lid has some wood missing on it as you can see in the pictures but is in good shape considering it’s age. This firkin is patina-ed and has chips, dings, missing paint, etc. At the bottom of the firkin, around the bottom rim, there is a little notch, almost like a knot hole that’s now gone. This firkin measures in 15.25″ in diameter at the bottom and 14.5″ in diameter at the outside of the lid. It’s about 13.5 high to the top of the lid. It weighs about 8.5 lbs. The firkins are painted and all have some fading, crackling paint, edgewear, divots in the surface, streaks, paint loss, wood missing here and there, streaks, paint loss, paint chips and patina. Antique 19thC NEW ENGLAND PANTRY BOX CELERY-GREEN PAINT AAFA Folk Art Primitive. Hands down one of the best pantry boxes I’ve handled as far as surface and form go (and size to boot). It’s approx 8″W across the top (by) 5.75″H. Chunky, thick, swamped with patina. Long, slender fingers of opposing arrangement snug to the body with symetrically placed iron nails. Body with straight, nailed seam. Flared and chamfered handle, carved mushroom pegs. Top and bottom boards are nailed not pegged. The handle sat against the box for a very, very long time undisturbed, when lifted you can see more of a yellowish color under it possibly the original color (see last pic).
