Early Aafa Folk Art Antique Wood Carnival Game Wheel Bicycle Original Paint

EARLY AAFA FOLK ART ANTIQUE CARNIVAL GAMING WHEEL GAME OF CHANCE WOODEN BICYCLE WHEEL. The wheel itself is all original with some nicks and scuffs here or there. We’re guessing that this is from the early 1900’s but we don’t know. On one side it’s green, yellow, black, old white, blue, red, brown and bittersweet with black and white numbers around the outside. On the other side, it’s an old red color with no numbers or letters. The numbers on the front side are all 25, 50, or 100. We don’t know what game this would have been but this old wheel, mounted on a bicycle rim has great character and charm! The wheel measures 30.75 across and weighs about 8.5 lbs. The bicycle wheel measures 25 across. The pins around the wheel are metal, rust, strong and even somewhat sharp if you catch them wrong. The paint on the wheel is crazed, alligator-ed, worn, scuffed, nicked, marked and patina-ed… Just the way we love it! The bicycle wheel and the spokes are rusty, crazed and scuffed. The outside rim of the bicycle wheel is wood… Which could date it from as far back 1869 when they started making bicycle wheels made from metal spokes and wooden rims. Later, the rims went to metal so it’s likely that at some point, someone took an old wheel and made this game wheel. We don’t know the age of this item but we wish it could talk!! 19th Century Document Box in Wonderful Dry Oxidized Blue Paint Folk Art AAFA

This is a beautiful little 19th century document box with nice dry oxidized blue paint. The hasp and lock and bail handle are original. The brass rosettes on the handle are make-due additions. The box has its original dust seal and is lined with old wallpaper. The brass hinges are replacements. The blue paint is not old but has a nice dry powdery surface. Aafa Antique Folk Art Wood Stepback Cabinet Cupboard Original Oxblood Red Paint

AAFA ANTIQUE FOLK ART WOOD STEPBACK CABINET CUPBOARD ORIGINAL OXBLOOD RED PAINT. Up for sale is this fabulous old primitive cabinet or cupboard. It’s a nice old stepback cabinet. It’s a solid single-door cabinet below with two shelves above. We don’t know how old it is, but it looks early 1800’s to us! The cabinet has beautiful oxblood red paint. This old cabinet is a survivor. The back is made from four boards and has square nails as you can see in the pictures. The door works nicely and and wooden thumbturn to hold it shut and a wooden knob to open it. The hinges are old and may not be original to the piece. Whether or not they are original they’ve been moved over time and there are a number of holes where the hinges used to be. It’s a wonderful dry wood and is oxblood red in color with old worn paint. The paint appears to be all original on the front and one side. The other side and back are not painted. The front paint is dry, worn, rubbed, scraped, chipped, nicked, edge. The inside looks all original with great patina too! There are old newspapers inside that may have been used to line the shelves at one point. This is everything you’d expect to see from an old survivor cabinet like this! What a great look!! We don’t know the age or origin of this cabinet but we do know that it’s special!! Please see photos for accurate detail and description. The pictures are pretty good for the color, especially the close-up ones. It’s a great old cabinet/cupboard!! The cabinet measures 72.5″ H x 37.5″ W at the base and 39.5″ W at the middle shelf x 13.75″ D at the bottom. We can also recommend a couple of shippers. This is a great cabinet! AAFA EARLY FOLK ART ANTIQUE WALL SHELF ORIGINAL WHITE PAINT SQUARE NAILS. Up for sale is this wonderful one of a kind wall shelf. It’s old, its paint is wonderfully crackled and alligatored. It’s wood, and it appears to be the original old paint. It is white with wood color, beige, green and even a few blue undertones. The white paint is very old. It’s got edgewear and paint chips / missing paint but it’s adorable with lots of age and patina! The supports are nicely scalloped as you can see in the pictures. On the back, the little scallops are held in to the back board with little square nails. On the front, there are a number of places where they put holes through the face board to hold it to the wall. All of this just adds such wonderful character to this shelf! On the top, there are two newer eye hooks as you can see in the pictures. These could easily be unscrewed if you don’t want them. This is truly a one-of-a-kind item. The shelf measures 48″ L at the top and 43″ L along the back x 8.75″ H x 8″ D. The wood on the top is 1 thick. We don’t know the age of this item. There are nicks, scrapes, edge wear, paint loss, fading, dings and worn paint as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an item of this age. Old Primitive Handmade Wood Wall Hanging Folk Art Salt Box in Dry Green Paint. Nice old primitive, country, folk art, Salt Box will make a perfect addition to your folk art or primitive collection. Handmade with original dry Green paint. Can sit on a table or hang on the wall. You can read parts of it on the back and inside. Reads Church & Dwight New York, NY also Keep dry don’t store in cellar. Measures 9 1/2″ inches tall and 5 1/2″ inches wide and 4 5/8 inches deep. Hand painted “Salt” in a diamond slightly askew on the front. Great patina and paint, hard to find. Some wood splits in places as pictured. Good condition considering the age and utilitarian use. Pictures tell the story. I’ve owned this box in my folk art collection for a while now. Just running out of space.
