Unsigned but attributable Hersey pantry box in original greenish paint; color is less vibrant than it appears in the photos and some have said it’s slightly blue-green. Maple and Pine, iron tacks, top and bottom fastened at four points only and with wooden pegs (Hersey attributes). Very minor wear, no cracks or repairs. It’s approx 6.25″L x 4.5″W x 2.25H. Unsigned, this pair of antique 19th century Miniature Folk Art Oil Paintings are very well painted. They each measure only 4″ by 5 1/4″ and are executed on grey academy board. Each miniature painting depicts country winter scene with snow-covered homes and bare trees. In one painting is a figure ice skating and another pulling a child on a sled. Under a strong black-light we found some small in-painted restorations which are so well done we struggled to find them in regular light. There is an extremely fine crazing to the surface of these paintings and they could benefit from a light professional cleaning. RARE Antique American Folk Art Painting 19thC Firemans Tin Parade Lantern, NR

RARE Antique American Folk Art Painting 19thC Fireman’s Tin Parade Lantern, NR.. I wish I could tell you what Fire Department this antique Parade Lantern is from, but that information is lost in time. Measuring 6 ¼” across the front of the red glass panels by 6 ¾” deep by 14 tall this tin Kerosene Lantern is still attached to the tin, gimbal, pole holder. Most time when you find a Fire Lantern with colored glass panels the designed and writing are cut into the glass. This lantern has hand painted red glass panels depicting a fireman and a banner that reads, “What the Foreman Says, Goes”. One hand painted panels is in very good condition with a little wear to the paint on the sleeve. The other painted has more wear to the paint, but when you think about it that the paint is still there at all is amazing. Over the years the outer red paint has dried leaving a textured crazed surface. On both sides it says, The Hook and Ladder Co. What the Foreman Says Goes. The paint look dry, but it is not unstable and is firm to the touch. The tin on this late 19. Century Fireman’s parade lantern is in very good, unrestored condition and the small kerosene font is original. Some eBayer will win this rare and possible unique Fireman’s Parade lantern. Sorry for the oxymoron “Large Miniature” in the title, but that is the correct way to describe this circa-18320s Folk Art Silhouette Painting. Measuring 6 3/8″ by 8 1/8″ under the early thin glass this hand painted Silhouette depicts a father with his daughter on his knee. The Folk Artist has finely hand painted the details in gold and the gentleman’s hair in white. Unsigned, this large Folk Art Silhouette is in original clean condition and come in the original 10 5/8″ by 12 3/8″, gilded brass of wood frame. We carefully removed the painting, hoping to find a signature, but it is unsigned. The corners were trimmed to fit the circa-1820s brass frame. Century Folk Art we are listing this week. Antique 19thC American Folk Art Life Size Portrait Oil Painting Girl, White Rose.. Hand painted on stretched canvas this 19. Century American Folk Art Portrait Oil Painting measures 25″ by 30″. It depicts a young girl wearing a dark pink dress, while holding a White Rose in one hand and Red Rose Buds in the other. Unsigned, the artist was very talented and paid attention to details like the lace trim on her dress and the hand embroidery on the edges of her petticoat and bloomers. If you look closely you will see that this little girl has one brown eye and one blue eye. We have posted black light photographs and you can see a restoration to her dress and at the bottom of the Red Roses. This wonderful American Folk Art Portrait Oil Painting comes in its original 33 ¾” by 38 ¾” gold gilt frame. There are sections of gesso missing from the outer edge, but the gold gilding is original. There is an old stable craquelar to the surface of this painting as well as some lines, caused by the stretcher. Under a strong black-light we found that this painting has been in the hands of a restorer and there are several in-painted restorations.
