The red and blue, stepped base measures 4 ½” by 7″ and the overall height to the top of the Cross is 19. There is wear to the edges of the original paint, but that is it. Antique 19thC Spanish Colonial Folk Art Crucifix Jesus Carved & Painted Santos.. Tonight we will be listing several auctions with examples of antique Spanish Colonial, Christian Carvings. Century Folk Art Carvings. The antique Crucifix measures 9 ½” wide by 4 ½” at the base, and the overall height to the top of the Cross is 20 ½. Over the years the original paint has worn away plus the tiny separate hands on Mother Mary and one of the Saints are missing. There also are some fingers missing from the Crucified Jesus. The second antique Spanish Colonial Carving depicts Jesus as a young man. He is standing on a 4 ¼” by 5″ painted base, and the overall height is 13. Both forearms are missing and there is heavy wear to the original paint. We are listing these two early Spanish Colonial Santos Carvings without any reserve. Measuring 11 1/2″ long by 6 1/4″ tall and 7 wide, this mid 19th century Yellow Pine Miniature Chest is accented with wonderful hand-painted Folk Art decorations. The cover has the original owner’s initials N. And on the front, just below the key escutcheon, is a bird with large seashells on the sides. The outside edges and corners of this folk art painted box do have some wear and knicks, but when you open it up you see that the inside lining is still bright and vibrant. On the inside of the cover is a hand-colored print of King Charles the Second and the rest of the box is lined with vibrant stenciled wallpaper. The locking mechanism and hinges are original and along with this box comes the original key which still works! ANTIQUE 19thC AMERICAN FOLK ART OIL PAINTING PORTRAIT ATT WILLIAM MATHEW PRIOR

For sale is an antique American folk art portrait of a handsome gentleman. Prior was an American folk art artist known for his portraits, particularly of families and children. William was born in Bath, Maine on May 16, 1806. Prior moved to Boston, Mass. Where he meet Sturtevant Hamblin. The paintings os Prior and Hamblin , when unsigned, are so similar in style as considered to be indistinguishable, and are commonly attributed to the “Prior/Hamblin School”. About 1,500 portraits are attributed to Prior, and some of his works are in the American Folk Art Museum in New York City. This is an oil on canvas, of a distinguished, handsome gentleman, measuring: 35″ x 25 1/2″ (framed) 24″ x 20″ (unframed). This painting has been re-lined (years ago) and is in good condition, was checked by black-light… I will add a black-light photo later this evening. LAST PHOTO IS UNDER BLACK-LIGHT…. Century Black Americana Painting measures 13 ¾” by 15 ¾”. We have inspected it under a black light there are no problems or any restorations. This circa 1880s Folk Art Oil Painting comes in its original 17 ¾” by 19 ¾” rosewood veneered frame, which has light wear to the outer edges. We were able to find other examples of American Paintings by J. Andrus but we weren’t able to find any personal information.. The top and bottom edge of this 12″ tall by 8 ½” in diameter, this antique 19th century, American Fire Bucket is painted red and it is in original unrestored condition, however it is missing its original leather handle.
